just a moment of appreciation for the greatest sweatshirt I've ever owned
and government is ๐ hard ๐ to ๐ navigate ๐ even for people with all the access and privilege in the world! we can't stop working to build public services that are accessible, equitable and continuously center the needs of our neighbors.
I know that technology and AI are often seen as the solution to so many challenges but if I've said it once, I've said it a million times - technology is nothing without a human component.
this week (and it's only thursday) I've had 3 people reach out to me to help them navigate confusing government services - a business license, a citation and a grant program - the universal complaint is "I have a question and cannot find a person to talk to."
truly a full circle moment!

this article - probably unintentionally! - so beautifully captures the core fabric of why i loved working for the city so much - local government has such capacity and untapped potential to impact the lives of citizens, & not just in times of federal crisis
i'm still not totally ready to say that permits are sexy, but man are they important! it continues to be such a privilege to work for gov shapiro and the office of transformation & opportunity, building programs like fast track and ensuring that government works better for all pennsylvanians!
