A very old black-and-white cat looks fetchingly at the camera.
Hey, #Romancelandia indie writers: I've got some unexpected openings in my schedule, which is a very rare thing. If you've been thinking about querying me re: edits for your project, please do!

a man wearing a black sweater is making a funny face .
Alt: Dan Levy from Schitt's Creek making a "yuck" face.
My sympathies are with every Valley Angeleno for whom Guy Fieri's overrepresentation at the Burbank airport is now even more horrifying. I'll be there tomorrow & will be extra-avoiding Flavortown.

Sigh. I miss the old Twitter. (I mean, my niche of the old Twitter, which was Romancelandia fun and pictures of cute animals and legit local news sources.)

World's Okayest Oracle (Reluctantly) Seeks Demon
Amazon.com: World's Okayest Oracle (Reluctantly) Seeks Demon: 9780593818220: Dade, Olivia: Books
Just read an ARC of World's Okayest Oracle (Reluctantly) Seeks Demon by @oliviawrites.bsky.social, and it's a delight. Honestly, the hope-filled idea that you can find love amidst literal chaos feels very apropos in today's world! Plus, the heroine loves cheese as much as I do. 😂

You know, there are a lot of other Democrats running for governor of California who *haven't* demonstrated a clear patten of abusing their public office for personal gratification

Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal

As I put all my brainpower into my clients' manuscripts, this is what makes me so happy. I love their silly little protagonists, the unique conflicts, the story swerves & anti-clichéd moments. You real creators, keep creating! I'll be here to smooth the rough edges, enjoying every minute.

If this is you, I want you to know that the amount per work is very likely to be > $3000. Half that if you're splitting with your publisher.

Agree 100%, from the editor's side. I do sample edits because I want to understand your manuscript before I commit to it, and I want you to understand how I work, to see if it's good for you.

As a book editor, I say GOOD.
Editing should be a collaborative experience—working together to make the book the best version of itself. Bad editing can be tremendously destructive, and authors are right to push back if their voice is being squashed.

I donated to Noah Fontaine's story *NoahsSurgeryRecovery, match me with one tap
*spotfund is the easiest place to create beautiful and free online fundraisers. It takes just minutes to start raising money today.
I'm usually here talking about #Romancelandia but today I'd like to talk about Noah, my friend IRL, who is getting a hysterectomy at a moment when that is, disgustingly, a political act. They could really use some support during the process. Can you throw a buck their way?
