This show was like a movie-making version of Face Off, with amazing insights into prop design, set work, lighting, and all kinds of neatly-packaged insights to the film industry...

...it only got 6 episodes

Trump Erupts in Fury Over His War Failures—and Exposes a Big Weakness His rage at NATO is actually an admission that he needs our allies’ help—and that he wants somebody to blame as his war goes from bad to worse.

Trump just raged at our NATO allies for refusing to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz and bail him out of the fiasco he created. He threatened to withdraw from NATO with childish insults.

This is best seen as an admission of serious political weakness. 1/

Idk if I want to see SMG back in her original role, though.

Now do a legit reboot of the original, with Sadie Sink, and you'd have my attention: saw her in stage in John Proctor Is the Villain, and she killed it.

Sink could 100% carry a show like Buffy.

Iran will use mines, anti-ship missiles, fast boats w/ rockets, and submarines to shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

They will hit some civilian ships, and maybe a couple military ones.

The U.S. will respond with overwhelming force. It will not be clean, and it will not be glorious for anyone.

Eyeing Voting Rights, Liberals Aim to Secure Wisconsin’s Supreme Court through 2030 In the April election, Wisconsin liberals are hoping to expand their majority on a body that could be a critical backstop for voting rights during the next presidential race.

The upcoming Wisconsin Supreme Court election could be critical for voting rights, but it has had a lower profile compared to previous races. A recent poll found that 93 percent of voters in the state have heard “little” or “nothing” about it.

Bodycam video contradicts ICE claims in fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Ruben Ray Martinez in Texas Video of last year's fatal shooting of Ruben Ray Martinez obtained by CBS News appears to contradict claims that Martinez was shot by an ICE agent because he "accelerated" and "intentionally ran over"...

DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."

But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."

DOJ's recent 6th Circuit filing misspelled:

Voters as “Votors”
Emergency as "Emeregency"
United States as "United Staes"

And, it included a non-party in the caption.

These are the people who want access to your sensitive voting records and who my team fights in court every day.

Americans Are Leaving the U.S. in Record Numbers More citizens are replanting overseas, drawn by a quality of life made easily affordable by the U.S.’s enviable salaries.

This is such a well done piece that reports out, with hard data and interviews, something profound about what's gone wrong in this country.

Fwiw, Disney's Alice really does capture the batshit crazy fever dream energy of the original; and Muppet Treasure Island does the same imo for the adventure ride of that story - right up to fin details like the Muppet pirates handing Tim Curry the black spot on a page of the bible!

Similar experience: I read two classics recently - Alice in Wonderland, and Treasure Island.

In both cases, I had the weird sense going in that I may not actually have read them previously. The stories are so well known - that I may have convinced myself that I had read the original work.

In an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration A change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.

“Any mail that’s getting dropped into a blue box is not getting postmarked on the same day, and likely not on the day after either,” says the leader of a postal workers’ union.

This could have tremendous implications for voting:

Prince Andrew's Arrest Across the pond in Britain, justice and accountability is a serious matter

Never in a million years did I ever fathom when I resurrected the Epstein story in 2018 that it would lead to first arrest of a British Royal in four centuries. Not since King Charles I was arrested in 1647.
