If that’s what they do to a United States Senator with a question, imagine what they can do to any American that dares to speak up. We will hold this administration accountable.

Noem’s Goons crossed the reddest of red lines by attacking and handcuffing a U.S. Senator. In times past Senators of both parties would have rallied behind their fellow Senator and called Noem and her henchmen into the Senate to demand their resignations. MAGA Senators will do nothing.

A poem I wrote at the start of the Russian invasion found a home a few weeks ago in #SecondComing #poetsonbluesky #SlavaUkraini
Thanks to @sonorareview.bsky.social for making a home for my poem "Details Emerge."

Let your friends know. They need to vote today for Judge Susan Crawford.
"Worse, they said, is that going forward, they can no longer be certain that the Pentagon is focused on their safety when they strap into cockpits."

Why is Russia bombing schools and apartment buildings, and why are Trump, Vance, Rubio, Witkoff silent about it?
Because the president is a psychopath, because the vice president has the spine of a jellyfish, because the people of this nation are terrorized, the state of the union is strongly fucked up.

A member of Russia’s state-owned news agency gained access to the Oval Office for President Trump’s sit-down with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky – even as the AP and Reuters were barred from the high-level meeting.
I just called my reps regarding my support of of democratic ally Ukraine with @5calls.org, you should too: 5calls.org
President Trump’s simpering fealty to Vladimir Putin and Russia is embarrassing and dangerous.
Illinois stands with Ukraine, and so should the White House.
President Trump's purge at the Pentagon is a major step toward creating an officer corps personally and absolutely loyal to him, @radiofreetom.bsky.social writes. theatln.tc/V6pB4qcF
Side note. There are eight members of the joint chiefs. the chair is black. the CNO (navy) is a woman. the other six are white guys. chair and the cno got fired tonight.
February 13, 1975 Tomorrow is St. Valentine's: tomorrow I'll think about that. Always nervous, even after a good sleep I'd like to climb back into. The sun shines on yesterday's new-fallen snow and yestereven it turned the world to pink and rose and steel-blue buildings. Helene is restless: leaving soon. And what then will I do with myself? Someone is watching morning TV. I'm not reduced to that yet. I wish one could press snowflakes in a book like flowers.
Happy 50th anniversary of this Schuyler poem, whose ending gets me every damn time!
Now we know what the price of the prisoner release was yesterday. Didn't even take 24 hours for Trump to pay up.
So far in the last 24 hours, Russia's gotten:
- a sympathetic ear/voice installed as DNI
- the release of a crime boss
- Hegseth ceding Crimea to them
- Trump offering a WH visit
- The US acting as middleman rather than Ukraine ally
Republicans have gone from collapsing on a fainting couch over Hillary’s private e-mail server to installing a Russian asset as the Director of National Intelligence.
This is hilarious. I especially like the annexation of Green Bay and the mystery Mississippi River announcement.
Judge Amy Berman Jackson has formally dismissed the case of Jan. 6 defendant DJ Rodriguez, who drove a taser into the neck of MPD officer Michael Fanone and had been sentenced to 12 years in prison
"Michael Fanone's heroism will never be moot," she says.

LinkedIn post: On January 24th I formally resigned from my position with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). I started at CDC in 2010, and I have spent 20 years in public service, including my 15 years in service at the federal level. Here is a little bit of what I wrote in my resignation, because I'm not sure that anyone is actually going to read it. "I feel honored to be among the public health professionals that have had the privilege to work at CDC. As I reflect on my own experiences and accomplishments during my time here, I am humbled by the magnitude and the importance of our work. To my colleagues: we have worked together through chaos and uncertainty, transition, reorganization, preparation, and response. You are the most selfless, dedicated, and passionate people I know. I have watched you work around the clock, take additional details, deployments, and responsibilities, try to balance work and family, forego self-care, and keep pushing and work together to protect the public’s health. I’ve seen your sacrifice. I want you to know that your support and guidance has been invaluable, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished together." While I was backing up files I found my oath that I signed in 2010. I believe in our work, and I am sad to be leaving federal service. But I have immense gratitude for all of the opportunities that I've had and the connections that I've made. I will continue to protect the public's health in a different capacity (stay tuned...) but for now, thank you for trusting me.
The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.
Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.
Please read now we are in cover up mode, Which implies they know what they are doing is illegal.
Around 35% of SpaceX’s revenue comes directly from the federal govt.
Less than 1% of NPR’s budget comes from the federal govt.
Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (imperative for mariners).
This would be an unlawful seizure of territory in violation of the United Nations Charter, and the forcible transfer of the population of Gaza would constitute crimes against humanity.

Shut down the Senate now!
