This is 100% true. There is a lot of long tail payoffs as well. A lot of what you are trying to do is build up awareness of yourself, and that happens on a long time line

I recomend using alt text Not only does it benefit those with vision impairment it also helps search function so win win. Use settings then accessibility & require alt text of you often forget
I was worldbuilding for fun before I even encountered TTRPGs. It's a part of the hobby I still very much enjoy. I think that GMing would be a much more difficult proposition if all of the background prep felt like work, rather than being part of the fun.
I love the legwork of GMing. The research. The worldbuilding. Breaking the story. Coming up with lists, places, names; looking up culturally relevant architectural styles; music; dance; food. Sifting through images, poems, videos. This, to me, is also play.
As long as I've managed to save even one innocent, my life has been worth living, and my death one I can accept.
Not to imply that I wouldn't still fight like hell, of course...
