2025 was a big year for us. We launched our Guaranteed Income Playbook, spoke at national homelessness conferences from Honolulu to Los Angeles, and began filming our new documentary, which will release in 2026.
Thank you for making this year one to remember, and 2026 one to fight for.
“I think it’s truly a positive and powerful thing that you guys are doing and creating for low income and homeless families […] I think it is one of the many blessings of his world needs right now.”
- Charlie Guy, former DBIP participant and subject in our new documentary
Episode two of our two-part podcast series with @elevateddenver.bsky.social is out TODAY!
In this episode, we explore the civil rights roots of UBI, AI’s shift in the labor market, and what critics misunderstand about UBI.

Why do we need a federal guaranteed income? AI can answer this one. As the income divide widens in our country, AI is emerging and, in due time, will negatively impact the job market. AI could wipe out as much as half of all entry-level white-collar jobs.
Many Americans rely on these jobs to live.
MORE INFO ON THE PROPOSED PILOT:
💬 The proposed pilot would be a 3-year long federal program with 10,000 participants. Each participant would receive monthly cash payments equal to the fair market rent for a 2-bedroom home in the ZIP Code where they reside.
We’re liking the sound of this…
Could we see a federal guaranteed income pilot in the US? Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) is proposing one.
Read the article below, which includes interviews from one of our former participants as well as our Project Manager.

I know it’s counter intuitive - but if we had UBI that was set at a level that enables dignity and autonomy - it would be easier for people to find work. Being at stress inducing levels of poverty all the time just sucks up the brain power needed to get well and find the right job.
“Just get a job,” they say
“It’s easy to find work,” they say.
But what if you’re unhoused and living out of a tent? How easy is it to apply for a job when you have to fill out tax information, provide a home address, and obtain a social security card?

We’re SO excited to announce that we will be featured in a two-episode series on the @elevateddenver.bsky.social podcast! We discuss our upcoming doc, premiering in Spring 2026, and outline what basic income really means.
Listen to episode 1 TOMORROW, November 25th, wherever you get your podcasts.
Meet Eleanor Cepero-Percy, DBIP participant and 13-year Army veteran. Before receiving direct cash from DBIP, Eleanor was homeless for three years.
Today, she has an apartment and can buy food for herself. Direct cash allows Army vets like Eleanor the chance to rebuild their life.
#VeteransDay
Homeless veteran demographics:
• 51% of individual homeless veterans have disabilities
• 50% have serious mental illness like PTSD
• 70% have substance abuse problems
• 50% are aged 51 or older, compared to 19% non-veterans
We must support our veterans by providing direct cash. #VeteransDay #UBI
Did you know that ~5% of all homeless adults in America are veterans?
We must take care of our unhoused veterans by providing direct cash.

Universal Basic Income is automatic, unconditional, paperwork-free insurance we can actually use. It's always there—before, during, and after uncontrollable shocks occur. It's a non-withdrawable stable floor for a stable society. Want certainty? UBI delivers it; same amount, same date, every month.
Join us for a FREE presentation by the Union of Basic Income Pilot Participants (UBIP), a national org for pilot participants interested in getting involved in advocacy for the GI movement. Mark G, DBIP participant, will be speaking at the event!
