Yep. I've been saying nobody benefits from me having to commute except the oil companies I'm buying more gas from.

Good thing one of the first things he did was take telework away from federal workers, putting us back on the roads commuting again ๐Ÿ™„.

I'm not trans, so happy to be educated, but my understanding is (most?) trans people prefer not to be deadnamed or misgendered even when referring to a period when they were presenting that way.

Deadnaming and misgendering aren't cool, even for her.

Just because a trans person is a POS doesn't make it OK to deadname them.

Superman - I already loved the character, so when I was introduced to reading actual comics that's where I went first. But I started reading the Spidey books about the same time.

1) Fanfic especially, but really fiction/stories in general - TV, movies, books, comics, whatever form

2) Ben & Jerry's ice cream

3) Hearing aids and closed captioning - counting as one because they're both necessary for my hearing loss

4) Time alone

I graduated high school in 1990 and visited almost every school I applied to plus one I didn't. Did overnight stays on campus in the dorms at two of them, I think.

You don't actually have to sign a check in cursive (if you ever write one at all, which today's kids won't very often). Printing is a perfectly legal signature. Reading cursive is a worthwhile skill, but writing it, not so much anymore.

Not just "foundational documents," but personal documents like letters and cards from as little as 20-30 years ago. Learning to read cursive is still necessary.

I grew up in North Carolina, and in 5th grade we went to Old Salem in Winston-Salem, a recreation of the original Moravian settlement of Salem.

This morning, I got to be at a panel with seven of the eight surviving cast members of Firefly, where they announced they are working on a new Firefly animated show! I'm so excited for this to find a home and actually get made so we have new Firefly stories again!

Thank you! I have a niece and two nephews - I didn't birth them, but I somehow still manage to love them enough to care about the future for their sake even if I didn't care about the welfare of future humans in general. Which I do because I have a little thing called empathy.

If you never alt text & post text stuff you can easily copy and paste, ask yourself why?

If you never alt text visuals, maybe just try alt texting a little?

If you alt text 1 out of 10 pictures, you're still doing *some* which is better than none.

Do your best. That's all I can ask of any of you!

Doughnuts. Don't hate them, but for me most of them fall squarely in the category of "don't enjoy them enough to be worth the calories."
