Makes sense tbh. It’s harder for QBs to truly compound their stats as they compile in the same way that RBs and WRs can. QB scoring is a lot more beholden to TDs unless they throw for like 500-600 yards.
They definitely rigged LeBron’s lottery year as well right?
I cannot wait for them to draft Sadiq and all hell breaks loose lol.
Aka: “Please give us 9 and 29 Chiefs, or we’ll do it, don’t think we won’t!” We may have 2 starters and a developmental player already on the roster at one of the least valuable positions there is, oh and also no QB… But we could do it! Just you watch!” 😂
The Steelers should absolutely draft Simpson at 21 if he’s there. Rodgers or not. If Rodgers comes back, great, he’s the starter. If not, they don’t have to trot out Will Howard in the year of our lord 2026.
Hear me out. SummerSlam. Roman, Oba, Gunther, Breakker Fatal 4 Way for the chip. 👀
This country is so broken that this isn’t even that big of a news story. Most folks don’t even know it happened. Everything this country stands for is fundamentally broken or actively breaking. At some point enough must be enough, and this still won’t be it realistically.
Whenever people get upset over trading stars for 1st round picks, I like to put out a reminder that the contract flexibility of a rookie contract only truly matters if you draft a good player with that pick. For a lot of these teams, that’s not assured and has usually been the opposite case.
I was today years old when I learned that Caleb Downs is brothers with Josh Downs. 😂 Somehow that option never occurred to me lol.
Woof that 2024 draft.
The Giants drafting Love at 5 would be tremendously stupid, and also tremendously funny. 😂
Oh good another Stevens kid, just what For All Mankind needed. 😂
Or maybe I’m just too take-locked on the belief that Sam Darnold isn’t a good QB still lol, even if he did just win a SB. I keep waiting for him to pumpkin like he always does. If he can be good this year with an unproven OC then I’ll believe, but he could be like Baker and regress with a lesser OC.
Are you not worried at all about JSN next year though? His situation really worries me. Lost a great OC, the run game is going to be significantly worse than last season, and their defense will probably regress slightly as they have lost a few starters from last year.
I tend to agree, though to me the true RB stud group is really only 4 guys right now, and the WR group of Chase, Puka, ARSB, CD, JSN, and JJ have less question marks than any RBs going around them. So to me I go heavy WR in the first unless I have the 1.01 or 1.02, or can get JT or CMC mid first.
But the draft is the best chance I get on accumulating as much upside as possible, and I capitalize on that whenever I can. Last year I had Bijan, CMC, and Achane on the same team and won the chip. Way back I had David Johnson and LeVeon the year both got hurt immediately. 😂
That’s how I always build my teams. Great QBs, 2-4 great round 3 or higher players that I specifically believe in, and a bunch of low budget players and rookie shots to fill out the rest of the roster. I’m confident in my ability to make waiver moves and spot starts.
It’s hard to know for sure. In my auction home redraft league, I’ve been playing for 10 years now. I have made the championship 6 times (only won twice 🫠), or been the worst team in the league pretty much the other 4 years. To me, any random schmuck can average 10 PPG. I want the guys who get 20.
I don’t think you’re wrong at all. I just personally have Puka as the WR2 in a tier of 2, and everyone else a step below. To me it’s purely that his upside is higher than the other players’ to me, and they all have differing downsides and questions that are valid.
Yep, I was all in on CMC last season because I believed the upside was too high compared to the level of risk that was present in a 30 year old RB coming off Achilles problems. And he honestly didn’t even really hit the way we thought, he just caught so many damn passes because every 9er died lol.
Oh trust me I’m with you as a Cards fan, I don’t think Kyler is bad. I mostly just wonder how well he fits the scheme, and how much or how little he tries to feed Jefferson. I just have seen Cooper Kupp break fantasy with McVay and Stafford, and Puka is far more talented than Kupp was.
for all of them comparatively. But I don’t aim for median projection, because if my early picks aren’t good enough, I’m not going to win the championship outside of pure matchup luck. I can’t control that, but I can somewhat control drafting the players I believe have true “league-winning” upside.
the most of these players on it. I view Puka from a talent perspective as a lock for one of these players YoY until Stafford is gone or McVay is gone. Same way I view Chase in Cincy. Because there are no other WRs that fit my view in that way, I value them less even if median projection is close
I definitely think that I am just a far more aggressive fantasy player in general when it comes to risk, which is totally fine both ways. But my personal viewpoint on fantasy is that only like 10-12 players truly matter any given season, and the team that wins a league is the team that has
Their offenses are good enough and the floors are safe enough that I can understand avoiding the risk in their favor. Jefferson is close but I haven’t seen a good version of Kyler in like 4 years so I’m skeptical. And JSN is talented, but losing Kubiak and KW scares me more than most folks.
For plenty of people, that alone is a deal-breaker, which I fully respect. But I also recognize that he’s a top 2-3 talent at the position in the league, and is on a top 2-3 offense in the league. That combo is impossible to fade for me personally. If you want to go ARSB and CD over him, I get it.
It’s definitely possible for sure. For me personally, I move him down to the bottom of whatever tier he’s in for me, and if we get more information or more problems as we get closer, I’ll move him again. But all we have to draft on right now is that he’s a stupid, awful human.
It would be like fading prime Antonio Brown and Tyreek Hill because they were also clowns. Like yes, you could get burned, but you are also very likely to get burned for not drafting them. So it’s probably a risk tolerance thing more than anything.
