A meme with a picture of a happy and put together couple driving together in a car, the caption says "Leaving 2019" and then the second frame shows the couple looking completely broken and defeated as they drive (most likely in silence😅). The caption under it says: Entering 2025... 😂

Do you think you're sitting still right now?

- You're on a planet that orbitis a star at 30km/s

- That star is orbiting the center of a galaxy at 230km/s

- That galaxy is moving trough the universe at 600km/s.

Since you started reading this, you have traveled about 3000km.

I find it so interesting that so many people are reacting with horror to this, where in fact they are quite beautiful with their wings out like that.

Who is 'the money behind the money?' As the Guardian announces the 'sale' of the 233-year-old Observer to Tortoise Media, I wave hello to my new bosses (hi!) with an investigation of their finances.

The Guardian is pushing ahead with its 'sale' of the Observer.
But the journalism continues...
If you value the Guardian or Observer, I urge you to read this. It's my attempt to investigate 'the money behind the money'.
Who is 'buying' us? And why?

Goldman Sachs asks in biotech research report: 'Is curing patients a sustainable business model?' Goldman Sachs warns sales from the most successful disease treatments are difficult to maintain.

This article highlights why more “crazy motherfuckers”are likely going to kill more extremely wealthy, “heartless, motherfuckers.”

Society has reached the tipping point on inequities. Especially those leaving the masses to suffer and die.

Doing it Amorim's way, and knuckling down to try and be the best that he can be, is his new challenge. If Marcus can get his head right, he might see that Amorim wants to help him reach his potential...that is a big if though😮‍💨

Ruben Amorim: "When we started a month ago, everyone started from scratch, because every person deserves a fresh start. The power is in their hands, because if they do the right thing, I'll make them play. I just want to win. They're responsible for their playing time, not me."

Names

Wendy Cope

She was Eliza for a few weeks
When she was a baby –
Eliza Lily. Soon it changed to Lil.

Later she was Miss Steward in the baker’s shop
And then ‘my love’, ‘my darling’, Mother.

Widowed at thirty, she went back to work
As Mrs. Hand. Her daughter grew up,
Married and gave birth.

Now she was Nanna. ‘Everybody
Calls me Nanna,’ she would say to visitors.
And so they did – friends, tradesmen, the doctor.

In the geriatric ward
They used the patients’ Christian names.
‘Lil’ we said, ‘or Nanna’
But it wasn’t in her file
And for those last bewildered weeks
She was Eliza once again.

A World Without Children

for the victims of every school shooting

There's no one running in the museums.
And that's just the beginning. There's no one
beautifully out of tune in the church choir,
no one spinning on the thing that spins
in the park. See? It doesn't even have a name,
because children have to name a thing like that.
No one breathes on the window of a school
the week before winter break, writing their name
in the mist. What's a school now anyway? A place
to keep the dead. That's all. History knows that.
It stands a mother before a ditch
and it hands her her child, and she has
three seconds, three seconds
to say to him all she would have said in their life.
Everyone knows
when the guns come
the children go first, as saplings bow
to the first snows of a winter, and
silence did this. We did this. We're winter.
Come, let's walk awhile through the ruins.
You can still hear their voices,
in the coldness: there, in the places
they hid in—a safe-room, dark barn, a cellar,
a closet at the back of a classroom—
wondering what sound that is, what power,
wondering where all the grownups are.
