Congress, follow @harrisonmann.bsky.social’s advice. If you want to stop Trump’s reckless and illegal war on Iran, don’t fund it.

Talking w/@audiecornish.bsky.social this AM:
"These targets have no military value, that's what they haven't been blown up yet 6 weeks into the war" = Trump's threats would be war crimes
He's on "a very slippery slope" toward the Israeli model of justifying attacks on civilian infrastructure
“Iran’s strategy to pressure Trump was to cause a global economic crisis and raise the price of gas to $6-$7 in America. So what Trump is doing right now" by blockading the Strait of Hormuz "is doubling down on the Iranian strategy to defeat Donald Trump,” @harrisonmann.bsky.social told @cnn.com.
“The more ‘defensive weapons’ available, the bigger the offensive operations launched by the Israeli military...”
@harrisonmann.bsky.social argues there's no such thing as a ‘defensive weapon’ & politicians need to object to all forms of support for the Israeli military.

As more Dems openly reevaluate the US-Israel security relationship, I clarify in @zeteo.com that “defensive weapons” are a prerequisite for wars of aggression, and that US bombs destroy lives just the same whether they’re gifted to Israel or sold.

There’s No Such Thing As a “Defensive Weapon”
Politicians call them 'defensive weapons' to make arming Israel sound unobjectionable, but the US military, Netanyahu, and Trump all know better.

Our @harrisonmann.bsky.social joined CNN to discuss Pete Hegseth’s dangerous Christian nationalist vision for the U.S. military.
Hegseth is supposed to be protecting the American people, not using our military to enable a reckless authoritarian.
It’s important not to let them pin this all on Trump, in the same way it’s important not to let them pin Israel’s crimes on Netanyahu. Everything we are seeing with this disastrous Iran war is the product of the entire power structure which gave rise to it, not one guy’s dopey decisions.
Things you post when you are definitely in a strong negotiating position after definitely winning a war.

"I served under Trump, and it's pretty disturbing to understand someone like that will decide whether you live or die"
"I'm surprised the Iranian delegation would leave the safety of their bunkers and risk assassination by Israel."
With Netanyahu defying Trump in Lebanon I told @outfrontcnn.bsky.social that if Trump doesn't prove he can rein in Israel, negotiations are meaningless.
On Monday night US Army Major retired Harrison Mann warned that Netanyahu would try to undermine the ceasefire. He wants the US to keep fighting for his own agenda. And just as Harrison warned we are seeing Netanyahu do just that:
“If Israel continues with its genocide [in Gaza] & its bombardment of Lebanon, the spillover effect risks bringing that regional war back into place…"
@harrisonmann.bsky.social & @tparsi.bsky.social discuss what the Iran ceasefire means for Gaza & Lebanon.
Watch now: zeteo.com/p/iran-cease...
And ... already happening.
"He's gonna immediately look for ways to disrupt it."
Former Army Major @harrisonmann.bsky.social told @deanobeidallah.bsky.social that Netanyahu will find new ways to provoke Iran into breaking the ceasefire.
Trump backed down (good), but this is a win for Iran. Legitimates Iran’s control of the strait.
He chose humiliation over escalation. For now. Or until he realizes he chose humiliation.

Trump's tendency to describe what he's seen on military video feeds really undercuts DOD's current media blackout. Yesterday, he talked about seeing the Little Birds come out of the MC-130s in the desert, but he also described an Iranian missile attack on the USS Abraham Lincoln that DOD has...
Today's US strikes on Kharg were intended as a threat to occupy the island, but intense effort/valor/lost aircraft needed to extract just 2 aviators from Iranian soil over the weekend should make us wary of risks of infil/exfil for an entire 800-man battalion.
On Trump + Israel targeting civilian infrastructure in Iran:
"If that happened here, we would call it terrorism. We would know it was a war crime."
On Trump's renewed threats to commit war crimes:
Military officers "need to think hard about whether they're willing to do the right thing now and take the licks that come with that, or live with the stain" (and potential legal consequences)

Notable about the Isfahan rescue mission: the reason all these JSOC forces were in place in the region—from both Delta and SEAL Team 6 as well as the Rangers—is because of a big JSOC surge a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the highly enriched uranium raid, if ordered. Normally JSOC keeps…
When Israel’s defense minister says here that the IDF will be “following the Rafah and Beit Hanoun model” in southern Lebanon, he’s being very clear: those are Gazan cities that were not just heavily damaged in fighting, but entirely erased by earthmovers and controlled demolitions *after* combat.
“Asymmetric” = fighting back isn’t fair

"We've Spent Trillions on Our Pentagon Budget. So Why Are We Losing Against... Iran?"
Former US army major and defense intelligence analyst @harrisonmann.bsky.social on why the US military is struggling against Iran and how Trump isn't the only one to blame:
Defense intelligence analyst Harrison Mann breaks down the failures of the illegal Iran war, the role of the military-industrial complex and how the president isn’t the only one to blame.

Trump has made himself impossible to negotiate with by bombing Iran during previous negotiations and now threatening to resume bombing even if he declares victory. Of course Tehran says it won't accept a ceasefire.
