Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century review – apparently she was very good at shaking hands This royalist-pleasing hagiography is highly basic – and skims rapidly over the darker side of the crown. If you’ve seen The Crown, you know it all already

A huge day: my first one star review.

I sat through the BBC’s film about what would have been the Queen’s 100th birthday so you don’t have to. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

The Labour government in Wales banned Greyhound racing, you have to ask why the parliamentary party is so far away from it's grassroots.

Voters in Wales failed by inaccurate UK media reports on devolved issues, study finds Reports on English policies seen in Wales as relating to whole of UK contribute to widespread confusion, researchers say UK media is failing to report properly on devolved issues in Wales, leaving voters ill-informed about May’s Senedd elections, a report has found. A Cardiff University study of more than 3,000 news items found repeated patterns in coverage across different broadcasters and platforms, including not signposting whether an issue was relevant to England or England and Wales only, widespread references to “the government” rather than “the UK government”, and the use of “you” and “your” in contexts that apply only to people living in England. The media obsession with the missing/rescued American airman is gross. Literally thousands of humans have died in this war, but they only count in bulk: waved away as a vaguely regrettable statistic (if it's mentioned at all). Only US lives matter. It's Saving Private Ryan/Black Hawk Down bullshit.
