Miller is the best OT (certainly RT) at engaging wide rushers with power
McNeill-Warren is the best safety at attacking the football
Faulk is the best "play the run on the way to the QB" EDGE
Caleb Downs (I'm dreaming at 17) has the highest football IQ and processing speed of anyone in draft

3 years ago today, the Jamo gambling suspension was breaking news.
It's astonishing how the perception of Jamo has changed since then. The Lions probably deserve more credit than they get for developing him as a man and getting a hell of a WR in the process.

Today's Daily DLP sees old Wires colleague Andrew Harbaugh join me for some draft talk, including a look at what TB and MIN might do in close proximity to the Lions. Great conversation!

I have not seen them before. My wife has, twice. Her oldest brother was a huge Rush fan and took her back when Mr. Big was their opener.
Breaking down the top selling points and drawbacks to several top prospects who are prime candidates to be the Detroit Lions’ first-round pick in 2026:

I am! Cleveland on my birthday, my wife scored us tickets
As I write up some draft content this evening, I'm cranking the latest Dream Theater live album, Quarantieme. The final 5 songs are pure bliss to me:
Stream of Consciousness
Octavarium

The Spirit Carries On
Pull Me Under
Chef's kiss 🤘
Man, Faulk's landing range is everywhere. Could go 11, could go 25 and many places in between. I 100% believe he's on the Lions' short list of most viable candidates at 17. I would strongly suspect Chicago and Ben Johnson would know that too
Today's Daily DLP focuses on 5 players who clearly Fit the Grit, including 2 leading candidates for 17 and also today's Prospect of the Day, a Day 3 CB who merits more attention

One of the more fascinating developments in tracking Lions picks: not one person from Detroit media has projected Proctor to Detroit in weeks, if at all.
Yes, the Cavaliers are under plenty of pressure as another postseason commences. The thing is, though, they want it.
How Donovan Mitchell and company are embracing everything that comes with the Cavs lofty playoff expectations:

I do factor in injuries, absolutely. That's why McCoy and (esp.) Tyson are lower than you'll see elsewhere.
With Mauigoa, all indications are the medical recheck went well. He would be higher for me without the shoulder surgeries, might be No. 2 overall
He had major shoulder surgery recently
Today's Daily DLP offers something different. I walked thru a 7-round Lions mock draft using a simulator and making picks as I think Detroit might. Fun exercise!

[6078] Detroit Lions 2026 NFL Draft Primer – Detroit Lions Podcast
Chris & Jeff break down Brad Holmes’ pre-draft presser, and how Detroit reads lying season while teeing up mock projections for the Detroit Lions Podcast.
He walks into Allen Park tomorrow and is more technically advanced than Manu IMO
If you're looking for late-round/UDFA OT sleeper, Bruno Onwuazor from Virginia State is one to know. Legit 6-8/320, 36" arms. Raw but improving technique, decent feet. Nigerian-born hooper who switched to football late. Has some dominant reps at LT. 2-time All-CIAA
Today's Daily DLP breaks down some of my thought processes behind my Lions dream draft.

It's possible. I'd prefer them get a CB or a WR with one of those picks, but who knows what vision the GM has
I wrote out a few NFL draft thoughts, from why everyone seems weirdly sure in Arvell Reese being a star, what should be a buyer's market for early draft trades, an unpredictable offensive tackle class and more.
