the best way to get over a cat is to get under another (that is curled up on your lap purring)

Stone statue of a figure on a horse. North Sumatra, 18C or earlier. It's stylized; the horse has a short bent head with a thick behind and tail.

Alia thinks it's acceptable to open birthday presents when they arrive in the mail, more than 10 days before the actual day. I warned her Santa would put her on the naughty list but she says it's out of his jurisdiction

edited 14 minute improv down to 5 mins partly by removing the section I had initially labeled as "good". There is a lesson here that I will never learn

saw the New Haven Symphony Orchestra's free concert on the Green yesterday. My favourite piece was the romantic Helen Hagan piano concerto with guest pianist Samantha Ege in a blue and gold dress. So dramatic

excited for the Night Market both as an actual event and as a concept. imagine goods so transgressive and corrupting they can be sold only at the night market

on the cusp of moving out of the suburbs after 3 years, no longer having to put a brave face on it: god I love living in cities. I can feel a whole part of myself coming back to life

saw some linkedin spam looking for philosophy phds to create tough ethical and philosophical problems that ai struggles to solve and I gotta say that is exactly the kind of scenario they loved to talk about in my philosophy degree

non-binary not just for gender, but across all possible classifications. unjudgeable, imperceptible, incomprehensible to the human mind. eldritch horror as the logical enby endpoint

thanks b, maybe I'll check out bitwig. writing little bits of python to mangle midi data has continued to be creatively fruitful since I posted this

if pearl is a symbol of the feminine, what jewel or gem symbolizes the masculine? None. Men are more like meat

I'm forced to the conclusion that during times when the world felt reliable and secure to me, it was actually just as unreliable and changeable as it is now. a lot of people instead seem to conclude that the good ol' days were safe and steady and if we can just get back there everything will be okay

as you get older you experience the world changing irrevocably. after a while the fundamental shifts number so many that things feel unstable. logical conclusion? "my younger years, when things felt stable (if I was fortunate), were also contingent". common error? "the old days were safe and secure"

on only my 5th ever blurtra run I have lucked into blessings giving hoard and quaduse to all heroes' right sides. so I'm not equipping any items and getting quaduse sides with monstrous pip counts. have ridden this to fight 410 and still going. in-game clock already shows appalling number

Slice & dice victory screen showing the party and option choices and some stats

finallllllly got a brutal slice&dice victory!! choose party, 4 tinders and a spade. monster hp down 4 was a great pick, then wax seal (+1 to each identical side) on the spade sealed it, pun intended. it was way harder than any other mode. have been trying for like a month
