I stumbled across a games show in Kensington, and this game called THE MAGIC OF INVENTORYING (think Marie Kondo in a Dungeon) delighted me.
The gameplay is delightful, the art is unique and perfect, and yes, I backed the (incredibly reasonably priced) Kickstarter.

It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.
It's hard to make ends meet in this post-capitalist hellscape which is why we offer discounted copies of After the War for those suffering poverty or financial pressure, please feel free to use the code below to pick up a copy at a discounted price of $5. www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?d...
It's seen a good bit of play and critical appreciation by the community to the point that we designed a full expansion titled Songfall Survivors which we only recently released. www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...
As a reminder, we proudly published After the War, our SF game of memetic horror co-designed by myself and @alasdairstuart.com www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/2...
It's a game about war, trauma, and community. It's not an easy game but we think it is an important one to get out in the world.
That is terrible, though as a small consolation, most foreign countries worth visiting know that US gender markers on passports are unreliable AF in the trump era.
My little hobby is to find legitimately useful technologies (algorithms, macros, program functions, proc gen tools) that are disguised as AI to please the corporate overlords.
For scale, I have been working a high-intensity high-stress job filled with complex analysis, trauma, and interpersonal communication for over two years. I am basically finishing my proverbial tour of duty and returning to civilian life.
Fortunately I should still have a job afterwards, just not the current meaningful one I have been doing since 2024.
The one bright side of my current stressful day job ending is that I will have more time for my game design and publishing. I have a lot of games simmering on the back burners.
@senfoonglim.bsky.social and I interviewed both Catherine Ramen and @jenkatwrites.bsky.social for "RPG Roots" and it was great to see the separate interviews resonate, creating beautiful connections between "Red Carnations on a Black Grave" and "The Price of Coal".

First look at a character playbook from HOTBLOOD's ttrpg is now up on my Patreon! The HEIR is about how the pressures of growing up within arm's reach of access to institutional power shape a person – and how far they'll go for their inheritance.

Games are a unique art form. They are direct instructions, with an audience primed to follow them. They are unlike music. Unlike graphic arts. Unlike fiction.
Game design is about how instructions focus us, inspire us, outrage us, motivate us, reveal us, help us connect to each other.
WE ARE LIVE!
Time to declutter your loot!
Please pledge and share far and wide.

Best of luck with the campaign. I am rooting for you!
I think I know why the Artemis news and reporting is hitting me so hard. It seems like it is all from a better timeline than the one we face on earth. A place where science, engineering, empathy, and humanity govern our lives rather than venal avarice, hatred, and cruel violence. A mirror universe.
This morning, NASA sent up a message recorded by Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell before his death: “Hello, Artemis II! This is Apollo astronaut Jim Lovell. Welcome to my old neighborhood! When Frank Borman, Bill Anders, and I orbited the Moon on Apollo 8, we got humanity’s first up-close look at the Moon and got a view of the home planet that inspired and united people around the world. I’m proud to pass that torch on to you — as you swing around the Moon and lay the groundwork for missions to Mars … for the benefit of all. It’s a historic day, and I know how busy you’ll be. But don’t forget to enjoy the view. So, Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy, and all the great teams supporting you – good luck and Godspeed from all of us here on the good Earth.” Jim Lovell Jim Lovell Gemini VII, Gemini XII, Apollo 8, and Apollo 13 Astronaut

American friends; now is the best time to pick up a copy of Once More Into the Void while supplies last, from our friends at Indie Press Revolution. Check out this awesome game by @temporalhiccup.bsky.social about saving the galaxy, one last time. www.indiepressrevolution.com/xcart/Once-M...
Conversely, it also lets you choose the less privileged option which can sometimes be helpful. "Look, I understand how you feel" or "they don't pay attention to me".
This is designed to have problematic behaviours like "I may be gay, but let's bond over our common dominant racial identity". This will absolutely cause problems and force hard conversations.
My current approach for Circles of Power is to have all characters be in one of five "races" (intentionally problematic) and one of five "virtues" (likewise) and they are each ranked in social status. In social engagements, you can pick which of your two groups you are relying on.
It has been simmering away and I think many of the big pieces are falling into place. I look forward to sharing it with you as soon as I can.
I can fit so many intersectional failure vectors into Circles of Power. From model minority myths to "I am a man" activism. Broken social dynamics are fascinating things.
As I turn my mind to Circles of Power, I start to think about making a social environment akin to a crab bucket. This is fun design work and making sure I use every byproduct of the procedures is satisfying.
Don't mind me. Just mainlining the last 9 years of the Revolutions podcast for no reason.
It's the last day of the Kickstarter for Play Unsafe, my book about how to play TTRPGs. It's been pretty wild.
Go and back it here pls

A post apocalypse sci Fi horror where the remnants of humanity hunker down and try to stay out of the influence of the Song, which will take you over of you hear it...
