While we started with more than 300 @umich.edu faculty members 15 years ago, hundreds more health care researchers from across all 3 U-M campuses have joined our institute over time, gaining access to data, professional connections + help with grants, training, policy & communication

Our recent years have included the launch of multiple initiatives focusing on everything from the opioid epidemic and #telehealth to LGBTQ+ health and cthe intersection of climate and health.

Our institute got its start when U-M purchased a large research campus from Pfizer and put a call out for ideas for new research endeavors. The #healthservicesresearch community at U-M came together and IHPI was born!
