If this whole horses fiasco has shown us anything, it's which of the stores actually care about video games.
Hint, it's only two of them.
(GOG and itch, humble took it down too)

people swapping quality for quantity just for the sake of the metrics as points of sales pitch
now imagining a AAA game where you can talk to anyone about anything and they have to slop yellow paint on the dialogue boxes to indicate when conversations have been authored to contribute to the actual game story
Been playing Bully. Been good. Completely offline, completely linear and single-player. Been a while since I had something like that.
Fake website servic welcome page. text reads: "Your favorite tool is now ruined by AI" "you might not like it but shareholders love it"
when you open a service you've been using for a decade only to find it out it caught the virus
Oh damn, it's 2025 already with a CES 2025 going on. I blinked and 2024 is gone, what is happening? Where is GTA 6 new trailer?
Monster Hunter Wilds got a second beta announced!

This looks great!
If there was any doubt, Echoes of Wisdom is not a spin-off, it's a mainline* Zelda game (and one of the best ones)!
*whatever that means
I really have to catch up with the Tokyo Game Show things. Do you have something interesting to talk about that happened there?

I know people usually think badly about Xbox because of Microsoft having VERY deep pockets, but we need Xbox as a console brand to have a comeback to put up a fight with Sony and Nintendo. That would be great for customers.

Outside that, Dragon Age Veilguard is looking VERY good, but I grew suspicious with EA enough to have zero hype for any of their games. Hopefully it comes out as surprisingly good as the industry influencers are recently praising it to be.
And gotta mention, Dynasty Warriors looks like the old fashioned game from the PS2 era that a lot of old gamers enjoyed so much, I'm very interested in checking it out!
I myself am very much excited about Monster Hunter Wilds, it is looking awesome with many new mechanics and quality of life changes that are building hype with the MH community.
With the PS5 price hike the Japan market saw Xbox Series X flying off shelves, was curious to see it in the PS show.
Gotta say Astro bot has been an amazing surprise for a Playstation "new" IP that leverages so many franchises all around. Seeing that it is making waves and numbers is great! Hopefully more games with Astro come in the future!
Sony's State of Play yesterday came up pretty much within expectations, Ghost of Yōtei looking stunning just as Ghost of Tsushima on its time, A Horizon Zero Down Remaster was expected with the PS5 Pro on the horizon. Great surprises with Alan Wake 2 DLC, Soul Reaver remastered, AstroBot DLC 🎉
Game Radar has a good article getting a better picture on it, but looks like Project Rene will be free to everybody to play on launch. Yeah, feels like Inzoi really made EA wake up and try to release **something**
www.gamesradar.com/the-sims-5-r...
Reading a little further on it, actually they'll use The Sims 4 as a base and Project Rene will be an feature for The Sims 4. Knowing that The Sims 4 is infamous for not being that well optimized, this looks like downsizing and a weird decision.

Today we have the State of Play and in the next days we will have the Tokyo Game Show, hopefully, with some interesting announcements and updates.
I would not be surprised if EA start using AI to generate The Sims content and sell it as DLCs in a near future to continue milking that franchise for money.
A fun quote as a "why" on it:
"Kate Gorman told Variety the main reason behind this decision to not publish a fifth edition of the game was the concern that players [...] would have to start all over again after a decade’s worth of gameplay in the existing “Sims 4.” "
variety.com/2024/gaming/...
Just saw some news that plans for The Sims 5 are officially not happening, instead they'll focus in User Generated Content (UGC).
That feels like Project Rene that would be Sims 5 was in development hell and a money sink, and EA would rather resell the same 10 yo game and charge you for mods.
Reject modernity, embrace tradition
Meanwhile some fans are afraid Sony will be announcing more remakes/remasters, others are still hoping for Bloodborne remaster or PC versions.
Our bets are: PS VR2 games and Games that might look better on the PS5 Pro, new game in the Horizon franchise, Wolverine and Spider-Man multiplayer spinoff
Some allegedly announcements leaks about it went around the internet:
Where Winds Meet
Until Dawn
AstroBot (sequel?)
Monster Hunter Wilds
God of War Ragnarök PC
Concord
Aliens VR
More details at:
insider-gaming.com/state-of-pla...
They announced that will show 20 upcoming PS5 and PSVR2 games with 30+ min. Not exact numbers for each device.

Looks like Sony announced a surprise state of play for tomorrow and some announcements "leaked" already
That's BEAUTIFUL!
