It will depend on the location/restaurant, but tipping isn't as common in Italy as elsewhere in Europe (in NL you usually round up to the closest 0, UK 10-20%). Equally, last time I checked lots of payment card machines in Italy aren't equipped to add tips - so cash is not just best but required.

N.B. in certain instances it's definitely not a criticism - well aware that match schedules are absolutely not kind to work commitments or aligned to public transport.
Is football fans leaving (very) early an especially pronounced phenomenon this season, or are cameras focusing on it more regularly?
Fundamentally to me it seems like big clubs leaving would create a pull factor versus current monopoly stasis.
"Only" is saying too much, but I suspect it's an account around which many fans orbit (and a smaller number of satellites like fan sites/journos). If the largest object(s) moves elsewhere, they'll gravitate towards it/them - it doesn't mean they'll abandon Twitter entirely but usage will go down.
(3) Each platform is chosen for a multiple reasons (e.g. audience/demographic, tooling/ease of publishing, variety of formats, data granularity/analytics, ease of user use, growth potential, monetisation, rights protection, etc). I suspect these are more important than "baked-in" fandom these days.
Not dunking on Mark here, just the discourse is interesting.
(1) LFC joined Twitter when it had lower MAU than Bluesky.
(2) LFC fans don't choose Twitter over Bsky because it's Twitter, but b/c LFC is there. If LFC leaves they won't choose another club, they'll follow.

Liverpool joined Twitter when it had lower monthly average users than Bsky does.
Clubs will need to be more savvy with their partnerships - if not already - and decide agreements on output, not platform. Other issues inc. clubs monetising Twitter, as well as bsky prob not having necessary infrastructure yet. Bsky are recruiting a sports partner mgr right now - it will change.
The thing that will make football twitter move is if the clubs themselves move.
That they - football twitter and the clubs - won't or can't is an indictment of every single one of them.
Rewatching the heist except this time it's us.
There was a really simple PR opportunity here and generating some goodwill by just putting this on Disney+ - perhaps even generating some extra signups - but no.

I wonder how long it will be before we see some of the nonsense-science headwear that has been pedalled in the NFL/college gridiron transfer to football.
Agree he was good overall, but I think any manager with Curtis has to accept that there is an element to his game where he is willing to take risks in playing the ball/facing opposition players that he can't or won't drop, and yesterday he got away with a couple. It's positive in MF, less so at RB.
I've already set aside several jars of marbles to weaponise for when the robot wars inevitably commence.
Mock all you like, these are going to be the most fun piggyback rides you've ever had in your life.

Me, before the corner was taken, talking to no-one but the TV: "Come on Virgil, do what you did on your debut".
Virgil: "!"

A reminder of the prospective ticket prices for the World Cup detailed in the United 2026 Bid Book.
Someone should ask FIFA's Heimo Schirgi what the German equivalent of "brass neck" is.

Infantino has many powers at his disposal, but unilaterally imposing a change to the Laws of the Game isn't one of them.
As far as I'm aware, FIFA hasn't announced anything about the duration of the halftime show. If it was actually to extend beyond the 15 minute duration in the game itself, then the Laws of the Game would need to be changed and it would need an IFAB vote to do so.

I'll get away with it, orzo he thought.

It was a trofie, stelle arrest, and the outcome won't be pici.
I am definitely not here all day.

"The uncertainty for taxpayers, coupled with FIFAβs inflexibility and unwillingness to negotiate, were clear indications that further pursuit of the bid wasnβt in Chicagoβs best interests."

It's good to see Real Madrid remain the world leaders in exiting tournaments with dignity.
I'm sufficiently informed about Catholicism to know that Pope Leo would deem Arsenal winning the Champions League a grievous breach of moral law.
A little bit later in the year, but I had high hopes for Klara and the Sun. And then I remembered it's Taika Waititi and I just can't imagine him delivering this with the seriousness that's required.
I am not a betting man, but I'd hazard that many if not all of these people are wholly unfamiliar with Augustine (and the idea of tranquility of order especially), nevermind de Vitoria, Grotius, and Pufendorf (or indeed those who argued differently, like Tertulian).

37 years on from the day that led to the unlawful deaths of 97 Liverpool fans and a year on from when a promised Hillsborough Law should have been in place, the message to the Prime Minister is simpleβ¦
Slightly quizzical wording from @politico.eu to describe how the EU functions by treaty(ies) as "tradition". The mechanisms and requirements for removal are perfectly clear, whether undertaken by the President, Commission itself, Council, Parliament, or ECJ.

One might think it would give FIFA pause to think "We're talking about asking a President and his administration to temporarily suspend terrorising a populace for the purposes of hosting a football tournament".
It is so completely and utterly bleak.
