Why did pages supporting DEI need to be "under review" in the first place?
@asm.org is not a government organization. It is not subject to the Executive Orders, which call for the systematic erasure of many ASM members.
This is a pathetic, cowardly excuse for voluntarily complying with fascism.

"Political" is banned, which is awkward for all of us in poli-sci. Alternative names for the discipline? Ruling science? StateKraft? (Kraftwerk is obv. taken) Power stuff studies?
Before panic sets it. The New NIH Director and Congress will want research to continue, so the machine will start up at some point. Keep writing papers and preparing proposals. AND educate the public about the key role peer review plays in science and the time and infrastructure investment needed
In this paper, we explore lessons from Norwegian government agencies in using randomized trials and quasi-experimental methods to evaluate public policy interventions, informing govt capabilities to be improved for research during crises

Like, do you realize what that says about this society from an ethical perspective? That we made policy choices that caused this?

Will we run a trial on this? Are we going to have chocolate consumption dietary guidelines? Will it be a J-curved relationship in the end?
Is funding from Mars not a problem? But more importantly can we just put a moratorium of 5 years on these studies?

Et veldig godt eksempel på en helt enkel innsikt som jeg skulle ønske blei sagt på introkurs til medisinsk statistikk, istedenfor f.eks. at man må bruke kjikvadrat på kategoriske data og t-test på kontinuerlige data.
Hi #HSR2024! We’ve been enjoying hearing discussions on the use of different social media platforms. If Bluesky is where you’ve landed, why not give us a follow?
At #HSR2024 and wondering where to follow and post - as an individual and in your organizational capacity? Is social media becoming a significant determinant of health?
We’ve got you covered with the timeliest session 😉 Join Thursday, 11.40am.

Timely and predictable processes, waived fees
Thanks to JICA & Nagasaki University
There has been too many bad conference visa experiences. It is time to say no to hosts that cannot guarantee fair and predictable visa processing
#HSR2024 Going on now

Inspired to have @HelenClarkNZ kicking off first plenary at Health Systems Research Symposium in Nagasaki. She calls out governance failures & challenges HPSR community to do more to address the #climatecrisis. (We so lucky to have her as the chair of the @AllianceHPSR board.)

What value does it bring to health policymaking if knowledge from civil society is considered a source of evidence together with research evidence, and what are the risks?
Looks like Bluesky will cross 20 million users some time before I wake up tomorrow morning ET.
The platform had 10 million users 2 months ago.
It had about 15 million users a week ago.

I loved this session at #HSR2024 on how health policy and systems research can generate evidence on the establishment, reform and implementation of national public health agencies, ending with a quickfire session between Kumanan Rasanathan and Sarah Bennett
