PSA: Starting Android Gradle Plugin 9.0 (or the latest stable version of R8): R8 will automatically optimize all Intrinsics.check* APIs in Kotlin automatically !

This should greatly help improve app performance (especially Compose given the large Kotlin library API surface).

You'd enjoy the Acquired podcast. Nelson recommended the mini-series they did about Google to me a couple months ago, and I've been hooked since then!

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’

Some politicians and commentators continue to talk our great city down.

The facts show a very different picture.

I loved my MX Master when I had it, but ended up having to move to the MX Vertical due to wrist pain. I wish they'd make some updates to that one, especially as the scroll wheel on it sucks

I think literally every single time I asked both Gemini 2.5 Pro and GPT-5 the same question, I got a better response from GPT. Gemini is really, really not good

You can also just use your head unit to control the smart trainer and watch some TV / YouTube for entertainment. You can have your workouts synced to the head unit beforehand or just do free rides

This story about 3 guys who randomly tagged along with Jonas on a training ride is so awesome.

In the last two days I've had two people stop me to give me their opinions on me using my phone whilst walking (on practically empty pavements, not crossings).

The latest informing me (falsely) that in Hamburg I can be fined 60€ for it.

Why are you like this? Can't you, idk, get laid or something?
