A discovery I found yesterday:

The original designer of the Gundams from SEED were designed by a Honda engineer named Keiichiro Katagiri. He went uncredited and his designs were cleaned up by Okawara. This info I, know. What I didn't know was this his bike designs showed up in Freedom. Full-circle.

I liked and still cherish my time w. the original series, but I think because I set my expectations on the later works differently based on what everyone was saying about them, removing some of my attachment from the OG series and viewing/engaging w. them on their own terms helped me like them more.

The first is an unusual compilation (in which I interpret it as a work that follows parallel with the 2nd and 3rd film's stories), along with those amazing first 30 minutes.

Anemone and Eureka are more easier to follow structurally, and liked the big swings they made. 3rd also has Okawara designs!

The inclusion of the third Hi-Evo film for SRW has me reminiscing about my experience with post original series Eureka Seven last year.

Pocketful of Rainbows was an overwhelming but fascinating retelling, I actually really loved Astral Ocean as a followup, and the Hi-Evo movies I also kind of love.

Xenoglossia's inclusion means we're one step closer to Symphogear in SRW

What i'm much more invested in the production side of things. Are they gonna bring some JP mechanical designers for the MS or is it gonna be just western artists? What's the visuals style and the VFX studios? More interested in that.

Back from watching Speed Racer on IMAX. I've seen this movie a bajillion times on DVD and know the pace of this film by heart but man, it really is something else to watch this on the biggest screen possible with those crazy visuals and roaring loud sounds.

The nonja scene still sends me in a riot.
