This is all so interesting. I lived off grid (incompetently) for 9 years so i often can tell if something's off with the way people write light/dark/seasons but I have never even remotely considered concepts of time.

Make it make sense...

I've always been wary of using the 'f' word. But if ICE isn't a tool of the fascist-adjacent at least, I don't know what has ever been in my lifetime in the Western world.

Had an intriguing editorial discussion recently: how did people in the past talk about 'minutes' when they didn't have watches or standardised times? How does that affect your thinking?

Come down an Elizabethan/Jacobean rabbit hole with me.

Nice of genitally-obsessed bigot to use #NotInOurName

70,000 women have now signed, saying clearly that exclusion is not in their name and that trans people deserve dignity, safety and belonging.

This is really interesting because I wanted to argue that lots of old films are about reassigning power but I guess often they are actually about the ‘goodies’ (white cis men) maintaining power

ReCalibri They always make us do everything ourselves, anyway

I made a Chrome extension that swaps Times New Roman for Calibri on every site or just .gov. It also had Open Sans and Open Dyslexic, because f**k these people.

I’m waiting for Google’s approval for it to install automatically, but you can download it and install it in 90 seconds. Instructions 👇

On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

I grew up in a suburb, West Drayton, where it was (rightly) news if there was a far-right protest every couple of months. Now there is one of them each week. inews.co.uk/news/inside-...

100 of them will use enough energy to power 10,000,000 homes: "Figures shared with BBC News in August showed an estimated 447 data centres currently in the UK, with that number set to rise by about 100 in the next few years."

Profit is being prioritised over people.

Enchanted today to discover I am listed on Twm Siôn Cati’s Wikipedia page as the author of a reference. It’s a nice reassurance as I try and wrest my re-telling into some kind of shape 😂

"The big orange elephant in the room that we're all tiptoeing around is the fact that Mandelson was chosen for that position, to be the interface with President Trump, not despite his questionable connections and his rather ephemeral morals, but because of them. Because he shares them with Trump."

The UN has only confirmed what we already knew: Israel is committing genocide.

64,000+ killed, whole families wiped out. Yet UK Govt rolls out the red carpet for Israel’s president & Starmer stays silent.

Labour - this is a genocide. Are you going to continue to ignore that?

Trump's lawyers won't stop lying in court It's past time for judges to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt.

"The courts have no roadmap for this. They have generally not been faced with repeated instances of high-level government officials and attorneys routinely lying or perpetually insisting they have no idea what’s actually going on, but that’s where we are now."
