I’ve had their Chase card for yrs. Some benefits under the new system are lame. You can get a free seat upgrade 48 hours out if there’s one available, but that’s risky if the flight ends up full. I risk it on the shorter flights, but across the gulf I end up snagging the spot I want ahead of time.

I fly SW about every two months to Costa Rica. I’m still getting used to the new system. From what I’ve found it’s usually cheaper to do basic then seat upgrade before purchasing rather than going for a higher tier ticket that has built in seat selection.
