I have greatly underestimated the classic puzzle genre of games. I've always been a Sudoku fan, I enjoy word games, but Cryptic Clues is a beast of a game and very interesting. I may have to roll this into my curriculum and teach the kids how to do it (once I figure it out lol)

Tomodachi Life is a big hit in class! I threw it up on the big screen and all the kids were having a blast making Miis, clothes, food, and getting the Miis to interact lol its a lot of fun

I was too poor to buy this growing up, maybe now though I could finally own it. I'd love to play some Metal Slug

Riot Dogs (24XX System) by GoldSkullGames A rebellion simulation for use with the 24XX system.

This thread is amazing, found a lot of new games to check out!

I did a small 24xx compatible game where you live on the streets and move from city to city supporting protests against a tyrannical government. It's called Riot Dogs.

Inside Japan's Underground Arcade Racing Subculture - Frank Howley Reports YouTube video by noclip_2

Have you ever heard of "Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune"?

It's just one of several massively popular arcade racing games that most gamers outside of Japan have no idea about.

For noclip_2, @frankhowley.bsky.social reports on Japan's Arcade Racing Subculture.

Hey if ya'll know any game developers from modern gaming (2010 to Today) I should make these kids study let me know, I'm drawing a blank (I've got like 100 devs from before the 2000s)

Doing research for the curriculum and found IMDB's ranking for greatest game devs of all time. Don't read it unless you want to give yourself an aneurysm lol

And if you DISAGREE...well you're right lol because it's art and the list ultimately is just a reflection of your own personal values in gaming and the experiences you had, you can't actually seriously rate anything let alone decades of artistic expression created by millions of people

Any list like this is engagement bait nonsense. That being said lol

The actual top 10 is:

Minecraft
Tetris
Chrono Trigger
Neverwinter Nights 2
Baldurs Gate 3
Guardian Heroes
SimCity
Zelda: BotW
Rimworld
World of Warcraft

Yeah! Like I never would imagine that's how a person would react. One guy with no context assumed she saw specifically a titmouse and just acted Iike that was true going forward. So weird. In theory, I imagine I can communicate well, but I'm grossly underestimating how wrong it can be taken

6 days ago 1 0 0 0

Yeah see that's normal lol like one guy immediately started building a bird feeder so the wife could see more birds, but like another dude assumed it was while she was driving and that she wasn't paying attention to the road lol like yiiiikes, this is why comments sections are so wild

I just saw an accidentally profound TikTok. It was like a dozen creators doing some trend where wives tell their partners they "saw a bird today" and just film the reaction. The spectrum of responses was WILD. Like I know people can interpret things differently, but seeing it in real time was nuts

Okay this is going to be unpopular, but if you leave Bethesda to worldbuilding it doesn't go well. The writing / characters / lore of Elder Scrolls and Starfield is absolutely mid. Only time they succeeded was Fallout, when everything was already in place.

I've gotten to the lodge and I have to say the beginning "here's a ship and a robot go do whatever" starting mission is still awkward af, worse than the Fallout 4 immediate power armor and Deathclaw start. Also, being greeted by Sarah Morgan's model certainly is still underwhelming

I'm replaying Starfield since it got that big update. This will be the first time I've seen it since launch and I thought maybe I could live post my thoughts as I play through it on here:

I always buy stuff for my class, but the secret is that the bottleneck is often the antiquated business office and rules around purchasing that hinder us the most

The next popular social media shouldn't be owned by anyone, it should be open source. That way we don't have a managerial team running things completely antithetical to the needs of the user base
