WNBA Players Had an Ace Up Their Sleeve in Pay Negotiations: A Nobel Laureate Harvard economist Claudia Goldin helped WNBA players win a nearly 400% raise. Starting this season, players’ average salary will top $580,000.

After Claudia Goldin became the first woman to win a solo Nobel in economics, she got hundreds of invitations.

She accepted three.

One was advising WNBA players on a labor deal. She helped players land the biggest % raise in US sports history.

Before and after peer review - never gets old…

I got something along the lines: since you have all the single cell data why not look at all the pathways and all the cells instead of focusing on a couple of pathways that you have preliminary data to show said pathways are involved and the grant is feasible?

I’m reading these and thinking, why are we submitting again? Masochism?

Right?

Can’t bring myself to like this comment…

2 months ago 2 0 1 0

Done it in the past for more egregious comments than this & nothing was done. It’s a very time consuming & energy demanding process & my previous terrible experience reinforced it’s not worth dedicating time I’d be using to work on a resubmission 4 this. I’m glad you had a better experience though!

Unfortunately it doesn’t.

Agreed. I am not good in guessing anyway. I’m just trying to gauge if I should try a different panel if the expertise is clearly absent from a panel…

I’ll sorry but with less $ end more competition I think these types of comments will actually increase in frequency

And what do you say in reply? And does it work?

2 months ago 2 0 2 0

I’ve had the same experience in a different even more preposterous review in the past

Totally fair, but this is a bit much. In almost every page there’s mention of previous work and the technologies my lab has developed and or used in the field…

I confess I’m struggling to not do it 😅
