Hi comic creators and readers 👋

How much would you expect to pay for an indie, self published single issue these days? (22-24 pages)

Keep in mind: indies aren’t Marvel or DC - large pubs can afford to charge less due to other revenue they make.

What do you think? 🤔

Shares appreciated ❤️

I get that £4/£5 is super low and probably isn't practical.
£7.50 is comfortable.
If it's creeping up into double digit territory, I start wondering if I should put the money half-way towards a Hellboy omnibus instead (or similar).

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

You absolutely SHOULD NOT go around telling people that data centers are full of gold, silver, palladium, copper, and that the data centers are almost entirely unstaffed.

Anne Hathaway bought the rights to a novel about a tradwife influencer who wakes up in 1855 and has to actually live the life she's been selling online. The book is called Yesteryear. It came out 3 days ago. The film rights were already sold to Hathaway, who will produce and star.

They probably won't ever see this but THANK YOU to the two young women on the Leeds train who thoughtfully (and gently) woke me up so I didn't miss my stop. You're both wonderful people!
Kindness and thoughtfulness is alive in this world. It's lovely to be reminded every so often.

After decades of working in the tech industry, I'm convinced that the jobs most easily replaced by AI are the typical senior executive roles occupied typically by mediocre white men.

AI can already generate plausible-sounding and confidently wrong takes. That's 90% of the job.

For the last months I've seen magic happening in front of my eyes. My amazing wife has been creating gorgeous Cyanotype prints...and today's her first solo exhibition!!! The opening will be today at Leith Makers from 6pm-8pm, if you're in Edinburgh you should go!

From today, for thousands of couples and families staying together in the UK just got even more expensive.

Visa fees are rising again — quietly wrecking lives.

We know that around 60–70% of many visa fees are profit

This is not cost recovery, it is excessive charging at the expense of families💔

I've taken the gamble. Benching him vs Man Utd anyway. He'll be fine by GW33. 💪

a man with glasses and a colorful jacket says " it 's a puppet " Alt: Comedian Brian Connelly had a skit on his TV show where he'd hit a squirrel puppet on his hand with a club and when the audience vocalised their sympathy for the puppet Brian would admonish them by yelling "It's a puppet!"

The Prime Minister’s plan to offer rapid routes to settlement for those earning six-figure salaries whilst punishing and making lower-paid workers wait up to 15 years appears to be based on the notion that care workers are “low-skilled” because they are low-paid - its a disgrace
