I liked it, but I can definitely see where others might not! I did a review post yesterday for the first book that has some things that might intrigue or deter you from reading!

This is the second book in the LightLark series! 6 rulers that each have an elemental power compete in the centennial to break the curses them and their people have. Main character is Isla crown, she has the nature elemental, but she was born powerless.

I have too! I didn’t want to read it at first. I hate the names and the nickname ‘Hearteater’, but I toughed it out. It was predictable but also not at the same time? I just think the choice to make it 3rd prsn but make it feel like it’s first prsn pmo. When I read 3rd I want to know everythinggg.

All in all, Alex Aster just played tf out of me 🫡

It’s written in 3rd person.
The aesthetics and powers are really interesting!
The writing style itself is slightly amateur imo, but not nearly bad enough to DNF.

I couldn’t give it 5 Stars because I felt like it lacked character development for all main characters except for Isla.
I did enjoy that this book is a huge plot twist and you won’t actually know what’s happening until the very end. Everyone’s a liar.

I’m on chapter 35 atm and so far it’s really good! I would definitely say this far in that there is a true plot with romance as a smaller subplot which can be refreshing!! 🫶🏻
