Recently, I have elected myself the neighborhood druid and have taken to pulling up invasives while I follow my offspring around the woods.
I was invited to lead an paper on teaching ocean science using Dungeons & Dragons for a Folklore journal, with my podcast crew, and it is by far the most fun I've had writing an academic paper, ever.
I cannot wait for you to read it.
A decision was made that all podcast hosts should be co-authors on the paper, since the predominate intellectual contribution comes not from drafting, but the 8-year process of building an educational D&D program.
Which means I get to publish my first paper with my daughter.
Jabberwocks and Snallygasters: Exploring the Role of Dungeons & Dragons in Environmental Education has been submitted! This was such a fun paper to write.

Watched a dad eat ice cream while his pregnant wife juggled helping four kids, meanwhile my husband sits down next to our kid and says "don't worry, I've got napkins and we wipes in my bag."

It’s D&D night, and the party has been invited to the Feywild to hunt the Jabberwock, courtesy of @drandrewthaler.bsky.social’s campaign module, The Last Hunt For The Jabberwock. There’s a limit to what I can say, because spoilers, but the party is deeply suspicious.
Fabulous!!

It's hard to grasp how large this grouper is until you see it in comparison to the ship's toilet on the left.
This appears to be an Atlantic goliath grouper or 'itajara' (Epinephelus itajara). They can reach 800 lbs (350 kg) & 8 feet long (2.5 m)
Let's talk about these gentle giants.
