I have nothing but respect and appreciation for you, your work, your light and your opinion. I hope this doesn’t negatively affect your opinion of me.

It is a very different story. And these are the exact same tools, trained on the same data, but used for different outputs. I really love people, I love my community and I just think the staunch opposition to AI means a lot of people won’t learn how to use these tools effectively. That’s a shame.

I recognize that they are morally grey at best. But they are tools. People will use tools for terrible ends, but they also use them in remarkable, wonderful ways. Every tool is like this. People are losing their jobs and having their work unethically cannibalized but for some things like programming

I think this perception is mistaken. I’m an independent artist. I’m currently using Claude to help me program and design a very powerful tool for my pancake art business, one which will totally enhance the customer experience, and my own skill as an artist. It’s hard for me to put into words

Counterpoint: for those of us with design taste we are completely unshackled from the pipeline of delegation and can just make the thing good

in addition to being able to design custom machine-prompted feeds, i think LLMs are great at providing context around highly viral posts. frontier LLMs like Claude have great reading comprehension and are impersonal/not affected by parasitic social media dynamics.
