I'm old enough to remember when CBS ran the NBA finals tape delayed at eleven thirty after the local news.

The goal, globally, from all who wield power, is hegemony.

Currently that entails a retrenchment to religious orthodoxy.

The more things change...

It's all manufactured theater.

Iran included.

When local and state taxes are totaled in our regressive tax system the total most people pay is near 50%.

For what?

Mainly to spread misery outside our borders.

No matter the administration.

We had a Blaupunkt system all contained in a similar cabinet when I was a kid. The best radio tuner I've ever had. We got signals from all over.

Had a short wave tuner too.

It became my system in my "fort" in an outbuilding later and I used the speakers in my first car!

It's a trip taking in a coin you paid $200 for and getting 5K.

But the Dow Jones was at 400 then. If I'd put the $200 in stocks and never took dividends (same as not selling gold) it would be worth 85K.

I bought gold in the 80's.

Took awhile. But it's paying off.

Help magazines stay alive too, please.

It's easier too.

Have you ever seen one hovering this high above the nearby summits? Please share pics if you have.

I've only seen them very near or rimming the summit.

This looks fake to me. The foreground should have much more reflective color off the ice.

The policy has been "you break it, you bought it" where we receive refugees from areas where our actions have caused chaos.

Then tax-payer funded organizations are formed to serve those unfortunates and grift almost always arises.

Pay on one end. Pay on the other.

What a great deal.

Spokane refugee organization locked in legal battle with troubled Portland developer The first sign of trouble came in December 2023. On a Friday, Contractors from Richland began packing their tools from the jobsite in downtown Spokane, never to return.

My favorite scene in "Good Will Hunting" is when Will meets with the defense contractor who wants access to his amazing intellect. It's a long-winded form of chickens coming home to roost, but really nails U.S. foreign policy and the outcomes.

My apricot trees are blooming and I was heartened to see all the pollinators visiting them this morning.

They got infected with a blight a couple years back and haven't flowered since. I did a treatment that finally works apparently.

We'll see if they set fruit. That's the final test.

Quit parroting war time propaganda and report the truth.

Better yet, stick to local stories.

Not one ship transited the Straight of Hormuz today and that's not going to change anytime soon.

It's Iran's leverage.

We should use this opportunity to transition to renewable energy. Now.

They come back like that after mowing. I mowed Thursday and while the grass hasn't grown much, all the dandelions are blooming anew. I think it might even help them because they know they didn't reproduce to seed.

They are beautiful flowers and much nicer to look at than monochrome thirsty grass.

Look at grocery stock price growth.

The beast must be fed. Everything falls apart otherwise.

Is there enough snow pack for it to get "real crazy?"

It would have suffered from the same inevitable flaw that haunts all hydrology projects across the interior western U.S.

The ice that fed the streams is melting/melted and snow packs aren't at former (not historic) levels.

Did you read the Wiki?

The scale is nearly unthinkable.

Drowning most of the Rocky Mountain Valley from upper B.C. to Southern Montana with reservoirs a thousand feet deep. A canal across Canada to the Great Lakes. Routing water away from the Arctic Ocean continental divide. 1/

Just because you lack vision and imagination while clinging to a system that is killing the planet while most are impoverished and will never reach their human potential doesn't mean an alternative would fail.

We'd need 5 Earths for everyone to live like even the most destitute American.

They all shop in the kid's section for their t-shirts made in Viet Nam.

1 day ago 1 0 0 0

Because what you are both clinging to has worked out so well.

You've killed the planet while impoverishing most of the population. Congratulations. And the best part is you didn't operate on the spread misery as you go plan, you financed all of it. So others could pay your bills.
