Spire Codex - Slay the Spire 2 Database, Wiki & Guide The complete Slay the Spire 2 database. Browse all cards, relics, characters, monsters, potions, events, powers, and more.

I recently deployed Spire Codex, a complete database for Slay the Spire 2 powered by a decompilation pipeline. It takes a C# DLL, parses 3,298 source files, resolves 14 languages, and serves it all through an API. Check it out and let me know what you think! spire-codex.com

Pretty cool that a little passion project, spire-codex.com is getting about 1K to 1.5K users unique visitors a day visiting it.

Originally I wanted to be able to view all of the content of the game for myself so I could quickly learn what Slay the Spire 2 had to offer but ended up releasing it.

It was a fun project to take something compiled to decompiled, into an API and using it to make a cute little website.

Go play Slay the Spire 2. It’s amazing.

Spire Codex - Slay the Spire 2 Database A comprehensive database for Slay the Spire 2 — browse cards, relics, characters, monsters, and potions.

Welp, I’ve been playing #slaythespire2 for a couple days, not very well must I add. I was reading a Reddit about how they decompiled the game and I got very intrigued and decided to do the same. The amount of data and assets inspired me to make spire-codex.com

Spent some time over the weekend to update ptrlrd.com figured it was time to focus on SEO and start adding content. What're ya'lls thoughts on my personal site? Too simple? API fetches to what I am currently doing too cheesy?

Return to office is the most anti-family thing, no wonder why no one wants to have kids anymore. 🙄

Not only to add that cost of daycare is more than a mortgage for some but yeesh, capitalism eats ass.

Finally got renovate fully connected and setup, now my homelab is updating itself. Peek endgame???

I have so much more stuff to add but it’s been super fun so far, I still gotta invest in a backup strategy but at least most of it is IAC :’)

3. Talos OS - I used to spend way too much time messing with building images and now I truly have cattle VMs
4. Flux - Having a CI just deploy things on commit is so nice, I love being able to write up a release.yaml and have my service up in seconds after deploying it.

Right now I’m still getting everything back up that I was hosting previously but there are a few things I found super impressive:

1. Proxmox CSI plugin - was able to have two ZFS pools for persistence storage for my cluster
2. Traefik - no more messing around with SSL it handles ingress and certs

Wiped my proxmox instance clean and started from scratch.

Spent a whole bunch of time writing some terraform to spin up 6 talos instances, three control planes and three worker nodes.

Decided to try out flux, renovate, and forgejo so I can have everything as IAC and automate any deployments.

This weekend has been crazy with our entire house being sick (wife, kiddo, and I) so over the past few days it was time to redo my homelab.

I was recently using portainer and gitea for deployments and handling everything but I’ve decided to say heck it and double down on k8s.

I hate covid. I feel like a truck has ran over me for the past 5 days. I can deal with most symptoms but pounding headache and no taste make me sad.

Finally fully committed to Linux. I've been daily driving Cachy for a few days and it's completely insane that I am able to play the games I want to play without any issues. What a time to be alive.

Video

A late May the 4th entry. Stars Wars on Super 8 film. It was only about 15 minutes long and silent. I was 13 when I bought it in 1978 and not having a video player or even a colour tv at home it was the GREATEST THING EVER.

It’s ok to take time and to research and change your mind on a topic.

Also ChatGPT or LLMs aren’t research. :)

Totally get it I come from extreme poverty as a young person and used games as an escape but on the flip side devs and people who are in the games industry need to eat too. Game prices haven’t gone up that much over the past 20 years but the expectations from consumers haven’t and quality gone up.
