If MFL results were allocated on a level playing field with other subjects, would there really be people saying "I think that needs to be graded more harshly because language teaching is worse than other subjects with lower standards"?

No, meant after the training ie reduce bursaries and offer retention packages.

Some shortage subjects get big bursaries, unfortunately this does not guarantee retention … of course there is more to it than money. Not sure I get your point re CPD?

What if teachers were given 10 grand tax free at 5 years, 10 years and 20 years of service instead of training bursaries …
