Doesnt have to be at once, It currently exists in the same state as the capitalist mode of production existed in the early 1800s. For capitalism to exists in its full state it has to first destroy feudalism. For communism to exist it has to first destroy capitalism.

Anti-Apartheid movment had paramilitaries, general strikes and so on. Black Civil Rights had the Black Panther Party, Labour strikes and riots too.

Many people have forgoten that change dont come from civility, non violence as a tactic only works when one also has the credibly threat to be violent if the government refuses still. There has to exist an actual economic and political force behind it, not just people standing in a street.
