With the tube strike this week, worth considering: hire bike reservation, Lime Prime & Lime Pass.

The challenge for cities is not to convince people that cycling is good. It is to make cycling ordinary enough that people can return to it without having to become a “cyclist” first.

HI EVERYONE 🙋🏼♀️
I had the best lunch break at work yesterday, cycling around and seeing all the new cycle infrastructure changes in Westminster 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Interesting question Sundance. I recall an Australian study that concluded that drivers found people who wear Hi-vis as less human & were consequently more agressive. Also, a study that showed people with flowers on their bike were given a wider birth. Perhaps you need a more human empathy vibe??
Great to see cyclists can now turn right legally from Angler's Lane into PoW

"Compared with non-active travelers, the cyclists had a 19 percent lower risk of all-cause dementia, a 22 percent lower risk of Alzheimer's, a 40 percent lower risk of young-onset dementia (before the age of 65), and a 17 percent lower risk of late-onset dementia."
"With people becoming more focused on green transport, the cargo bike is an easy way to get around — all without needing fossil fuels or large parking spaces. You can put your child or dog into the box at the front and seamlessly cruise around a city with little fanfare or hassle."
Cartoon showing how “bikes can carry more shopping than you think; there’s a bike for just about everyone; commuting on two wheels is great for mental health; avoiding congestion means the school run is quicker; you can leave the fuel for those that need it; and cycling is fun, healthy, inexpensive, and good for the planet.”
How we can save fuel on shorter journeys in cities — a simple, classic message that’s useful every day, but especially when fuel costs are spiking. Spread this #UrbanTruth around. Thanks to @davewalker.bsky.social & @cyclinguk.bsky.social.

THE THREAD IS HERE! 🙌🏻
This week, I had a fantastic tour of Westminster from @maxsullivan.bsky.social, to see what the council is doing to make it safer for walking and wheeling.
It was quite frankly, an extravaganza.
We met at Grand Junction, right next to … 1/25

Very worrying. My main fear is there seems to be either cynical opportunism or a total lack of understanding of the inevitability of this anger & a delusion there is some better way. All their candidates should take 40mins to watch this from @crisortunity.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=62dn...
