🚩 France, the US, Japan, Italy, Bulgaria, Norway, the UK, and Denmark have sent alerts to their citizens, advising to either avoid crowds, shelter in place, or avoid all travel to the area.

Early this morning, a faction of soldiers announced the removal of President Talon on national TV. Gunfire was reported near Camp Guézo by the French embassy.

However, loyalist forces claim the coup was thwarted, and a sweeping operation is underway.

🚩 The FCDO says it "is aware of a gunfire incident" in central Bissau, and recommends to its citizens to limit movements around the city.

This is due to the "political unrest" and "armed violence" which followed today's elections.
