A lot of my fellow travelers on the left have a sort of "contagion theory" of politics, where if you are seen near a person that person's politics infects you and now you are a carrier forever.

Would this make Donald Trump the first person in history to build an arch commemorating a war he's currently losing?
He's always been outspoken on these issues. Also, hot take, a much better musician and band than gets credit.
"Why is this Navy so underfunded?? We can barely fight two illegal, unpopular wars with no strategic value simultaneously!"

An açai bowl is just a smoothie where they tricked you into letting them skip the blender step.
Embarrassing for whom? Hegseth doesn't care.
That fucking chuckle is a SCALPEL
Keep up with that Target boycott because they terrorize people over nothing. #ThisThread
My favorite thing, then, is that EVEN THIS PAID ACTOR was like "nah" when Trump tried to start talking antitrans shit.
Which isn't a one off thing, fwiw, as far back as Reagan at least Republican administrations routinely appoint ambassadors intended as an insult who deliberately antagonized their host nations.
Yeah but this is the country that just threatened to put a second Avignon in Branston.
Vote Blue No Matter Who Unless They Have Leftist Opinions on Anything but Especially Israel
Yeah. Let me be clear: I am a chagrined Nader voter, although in fairness I was in Indiana and it did not matter at all. I don't think I would have voted Nader in FL. It really solidified for me that Democratic entryism had to be the project in the US.
We could and did. Fewer people were online but it was quite a fight across the blogosphere.
Thinking EA is about "effective altruism" at this point is like thinking Scientology is about science.
This is the circle that people are finding so hard to square. People *do* have more money, can buy more stuff, and yet are closer to being homeless because they miss a few months rent than ever before, and, e.g., a three month emergency buffer might need 150% of their monthly income just for rent.
While this is true, rent as a percentage of income is also the highest that it's ever been. More people are "cost-burdened" than ever before. It's true that the leftover income will buy more gadgets, but your rent is what makes you precarious.

Casablanca is one where you watch it now and at first you're like "ugh all these hacky tropes" but then you realize they're tropes because every other movie is paying homage to it, and in *this* movie they're all fresh and make sense.
So like. Somebody's gonna stop him, right?
After Trump's latest genocidal utterances, I'm posting this again from Anaïs Nin’s diary from 1939-1944:
“America is in even greater danger because of its cult of toughness, its hatred of sensitivity, and someday it may have to pay a price for this, because atrophy of feeling creates criminals”.
No one could have possibly predicted that one day we'd have a bad president.
I don't know what we could be doing
My go to is Polytopia. 4x game but massively simplified so it's not a ton of brain energy to play.
like if he can't beat Trump his *only* selling point is that he's not "on the left".
What are people even pushing this man for???? There is no one on earth who actually has ideological alignment with his bizarre policy cocktail of going scorched earth on the homeless and then whatever reddit is talking about today.

I swear the Newsom thing is just a power trip for Third Way and their ilk at this point. They *have to* ram him, specifically, though this primary, *because* the left has made it clear that he's a bright line for a lot of us.
“The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.”
Article 1, Sec 4, Clause 1
Do people not know that regulating time, place, and manner of elections is a designated article 1 authority of Congress?
