2013 Goedhart Family Syrah Bel' Villa Vineyard Tasted by aaronfeigin. This wine was a WOW for me. Totally unexpected, this wine could substitute in a blind tasting for a St. Joseph. Has soft tannins but still present and nicely integrated, lots of granite with great black fruits. Would never have guessed this was a 13 year old Syrah from Red Mountain. What a joy to drink. If you like Northern Rhone Syrah, this is a dead ringer. (92 pts.) - Tasted 3/16/2026.

2016 Clark-Claudon Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown Tasted by aaronfeigin. Beautiful rich and deep fruit. Decanted for 3 hours. This wine is flat out beautiful. Everything I look for in a California Cabernet. So glad I bought what I could from this winery before they closed. They made some amazing wines. (94 pts.) - Tasted 1/25/2026.

2014 Guillaume Gilles Cornas Tasted by aaronfeigin. What a beauty! Great Cornas fruit, excellent structure, tannins just starting to soften nicely. Gave this about 3+ hours in the decanter through a filter. No rush to drink these if you have them, but lots of air is key to maximum enjoyment. @gilles_cornas (93 pts.) - Tasted 1/25/2026.

2015 Barrett & Barrett Cabernet Sauvignon Tasted by aaronfeigin. A beautiful wine with great fruit and impeccable balance. So well made, this was a joy to drink. Bravo to Heidi and Beau for this fantastic wine that will continue to get better and better. It has many years left to be enjoyed, no rush to drink this if you have it in your collection. 2008 Larkmead Vineyards LMV Salon Tasted by aaronfeigin. Wow! This wine is beautiful. I opened several hours before drinking and immediately poured into a decanter using a fine filter. I HIGHLY recommend doing this, there is lots of fine sediment. This is a FANTASTIC California Cabernet that is right in the drinking window. Great fruit with incredible balance and lush soft tannins. I don't think this could get any better, but it certainly isn't close to a downslope. Forget the "professional" drinking windows, if you have bottles of this enjoy any time in the next 3-5 years at least. (95 pts.) - Tasted 11/29/2025.

2011 Château Bel Air-Marquis d'Aligre Tasted by aaronfeigin. Wow! I asked the importer on the best way to enjoy this wine. Lyle Fass suggested I decant for 3 to 5 hours. I filtered and decanted this wine and let it sit in the cellar for about 4 hours. Took it out and enjoyed it about 2 hours later. This wine is beautiful in every single way. One of the greatest bottles of Bordeaux that I have ever had. Nose was amazing and it was silky soft and delicious. If you can find any of this, buy it! (95 pts.) - Tasted 7/31/2025.

2010 Daniel-Etienne Defaix Chablis 1er Cru Les Lys Tasted by aaronfeigin. This is a beautiful example of Chablis. Late release, well worth the wait. If you can find it, it is a great deal with amazing QPR (depending on where you buy it). (91 pts.) - Tasted 7/16/2025.

2015 Château de Vaudieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Vieilles Roussanne Tasted by aaronfeigin. There is no rush to drink this wine. The fruit is still vibrant. Not sure why anyone thinks this wine should have been consumed already. I am not a professional reviewer but this wine has years left. It was delicious and everything I look for in a Roussanne, one of my favorite varietals. Great richness, this southern Rhone version has lots of pear fruit and a bit of honey flavor. (92 pts.) - Tasted 6/8/2025.

I don't drink Nero d'Avola often enough. Every time I do, I am reminded of the beauty, grace, and fruitfulness of this incredible wine. So enjoyable, if you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and find some to drink. It is a serious pleaser with great QPR! 2016 @gulficantina Sicilia Nerosanlorè.

2016 Charles Heintz Chardonnay Rachel Tasted by aaronfeigin. This was a definite crowd pleaser. I opened several hours before and decanted for an hour + with an aerator into the decanter. Great fruit, really nice acidity, and great balance. Didn't get any off aromas or flavors. Perhaps key to enjoyment is opening several hours before. Either way this was a great buy and a really god bottle of wine. QPR was fantastic. (92 pts.) - Tasted 5/24/2025.

3 great wines last night. First up was a 2013 @tablascreek Esprit de Tablas Blanc, followed by 2014 @faillawines Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard, then finishing with the 2005 @chateau_barde_haut Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. This Barde-Haut definitely benefitted from decanting through a fine mesh filter.

btw @wajali.bsky.social love following you and your posts, but as a Giants fan living in bay area and watching 49ers every week, this post struck a nerve.

You are right but people in glass houses... Aren't you a niner's fan? They last won a super bowl in 1994. So yes, the Giants are a dumpster fire and have been since last time they won with Eli in 2011. Bottom line unless your team makes playoffs and WINS last game it plays, then it doesn't matter.
