RIGHT?!? Gaal was a super minor character in the book and both characters were dudes, so to see them cast with the actresses they chose…I could not be happier.

What about it? It was a good show of solidarity, but had zero impact as demonstrated by the fact that a sitting president was that a “whole civilization was going to die [last night]”. And the other two branches? They had a duty to step in WAY BEFORE this point and FAILED.
I’m sad and angry and scared and anxious and hopeful and full of love and disgust and just want to know how am I supposed to function on top of all of that.

While Trump's assertion that "a whole civilization will die tonight" represents a discrete threat of genocide against Iran, the fact that it comes from a U.S. president, while Congress does nothing, actually represents a broader civilizational collapse — whether he follows through or not.
Armageddon is terrible, but our only other option was diversity trainings at work.

Imagine a world where we stop funding war & instead fund all the science, education, food, healthcare, infrastructure, language, environmental, art, & land back projects. Can you just imagine what a world we could have? Doing amazing things, creating more art, building equitable systems for all.

It was a fast/fun read. I enjoyed watching the main characters develop/grow while navigating situations that neither wanted to be in (first being chosen to deliver death to others, then [redacted], and [redacted]).
