The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

It's insane how many times I have to go hunt for it.
Dude.
This was not part of the deal, Jeff.

Rooted in the stories, the sounds, and the beauty of the Deep South, this is a game built with compassion and wonder.
What a moment. What a team. What a journey.
Thank you to all our players.
A side view of a bright red ladybug (with no spots?!), walking along the pale green stalk of my Yerba Mansa plant. The stalk grows from the lower left to the upper right, with the ladybug on the top side of the stalk, but heading down to the left. The background is entirely blurred in whites and greens.
Also caught this little friend on a stalk of my Yerba Mansa.
Elymus glaucus (Blue Wildrye) A close up photo of the seed head of a stalk of Rye grass. It moves diagonally through the frame, starting in the lower left and growing toward the upper right. Only the portion in the upper right is in focus, showing the seed coverings in a mix of white, tan, green and purple colors. The background is entirely blurred and is a patchwork of blues purples and pinks.
Gilia capitata (Globe Gilia) A close up of the flower head of a Globe Gilia, which is actually made up of a bunch of small, 5 petaled periwinkle flowers. Their oval petals flop over each other and their 5 stamens each reach out and are topped with little clusters of blue pollen at the ends of the anthers. Only the closest flowers are in focus, and the entire background is a blur of pinks, purples and greens.
Eriogonum nudum (Naked Buckwheat) A close up photo of the flowerhead of a Nude Buckwheat. It looks like a little white pom pom, and is a cluster of tightly packed white flowers. Their stamens reach beyond the petals, giving it a kind of hairy look. Only the closest part of the puff is in focus, and the rest is a blur of blues, whites and pinks.
Grindelia camporum (Great Valley Gumweed) A close up of the closed flowerhead of the gumweed. We odn't see any petals or stamens or pollen here, just the green spikey sepals looking like a tiny medieval mace. The surface is smooth and glossy, but the darker pores of the sepals are visible. The flower is lit by sunlight from the upper right, and the background is a dark blur of desaturated blues and purples.
My garden is in bloom, so I broke out the macro lens again.

Painting of a corner of a room with a low bookshelf, TV picturing a blank TV screen, an open door leading to a fire escape and tree, and pictures covering the wall. It is overcast and the mood is calm and quiet.
Painting of a corner of a room with a low bookshelf, TV picturing a “spotify” screen with a mountain and album cover, an open door leading to a fire escape and tree, and pictures covering the wall. It is dusk, and it is cool and raining outside but warm and cozy inside.
Painting of a corner of a room with a low bookshelf, TV picturing a “spotify” screen with a mountain and album cover, an open door leading to a fire escape and tree, and pictures covering the wall. It is very dark inside but an extremely bright sunlight comes through the door and windows. The mood is dramatic and slightly mystical.
All the paintings side by side with their associated color reference photos (the overcast one is a shot from a film with two people sitting on a dusty porch, the dusk one is an exterior shot of a cute convenience store, the dramatic one is a picture of the inside of a gothic church).
