I really haven’t noticed more potholes on curves - would be interested to see if it’s true. In the UK I believe a lot of the potholes are caused by our weather - lots of rain, freezing and the odd hot spell. Combined with poor maintenance - I see a LOT in my city where trucks have no access.

I should add that when trucks were lighter they would be running on four axles between tractor unit and trailer. They now run on six axles to allow 44 tonnes gross. So a 50% increase in axles for around 50% increase in gross weight. Trucks generally also run on air suspension now so kinder to road.

No normal lorry in the UK can carry 39 tonnes. The maximum weight of the truck, trailer, and load is 44 tonnes. So they generally carry around 25-30 tonnes of goods depending on the configuration. Above that and you need special purpose heavy haulage permits. I used to work in transport logistics.

That was my first thought the amount of processing required to generate video from AI is immense, and can't possibly be covered by the subscription cost.

I have all of SK's books. The Dark Tower series is the only set I've never read, as I couldn't get through the Gun Slinger. Probably his worst writing, and I enjoyed his earlier Bachman stories.

I think King hated it, even though he directed it :) The worst film associated with him was the Lawnmower Man, I think - they just used King's name to sell tickets - the film had nothing whatsoever to do with the book...
