Such a special book! I was so surprised that I was in tears at the end.

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Dark Sisters by Kristi Demeester
Wow, I really loved this. The multiple timeline was a little jarring at first but I loved spending time with each of the bad ass women in this story. It was really touching. I am ten toes down on a five star rating for what it made me feel. FUCK YEAH WITCHES ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿฉธ

I absolutely read every word in Georgie's adorable voice in my head. So charming, so lovely and so true. If you're not following her on social media, you simply must. She has a way of making your heart warm, reminding you of the wonderfulness of this life.

I'm telling you, you gotta allow yourself to DNF books that aren't working for you. Since I've been DNFing like a queen, this is the kind of reading I've been doing. It was a stellar month. My favorite was by far Bury Our Bones. These books will stick with me.

Everywhere I go, gotta find the bookstore. This time was Bethany Beach Books where I picked up Ghost Fish by Stuart Pennebaker and Doll Parts by Penny Zang. Very excited to get into these. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

What a beautiful story of trauma, grief and motherhood. The witchiness of the characters is treated with intelligence and honesty. Alice's journey dealing with trauma and anxiety, coming into her own power, and having to apologize for her own perceived weakness, really struck a cord with me. 5โญ ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿฉธ

Wow, that was beautiful. I can't believe this is the author's debut. I will read anything they write! This may be the first book that I've ever wanted to immediately begin again after finishing. So unique, so heartfelt, so human. This goes on the god tier. ๐Ÿฅน

Another pretty fantastic reading month. I'm itching for another gothic horror. What's your favorite that I should read?

5โญ Yellow Wife was agonizing, beautiful and so important. As a white person originally from Virginia, I am honored to be shown this story from a horrific time in our history. I can't recommend this enough. This goes on the god tier.

I had DNF'D this as a physical book because I couldn't gel with the conversational tone of the writing. As an audiobook, I'm really enjoying it. Has this happened to you? What's a book you recommend that's better as audio?

Now THAT'S a good reading month. I also DNF'd a couple and it's making such an impact on how much I'm enjoying reading.

Faves were definitely Buffalo Hunter Hunter and When The Wolf Comes Home. Two absolute masterpieces. I have so many good things planned to read in June. How was your month?

I will read anything this man @natcassidy.bsky.social ever writes, and now that I've completed the "trilogy" as he puts it in the afterward, I want to read it all again.
