Exactly this. I also think its massively understated how much time and energy this would take for him to head up recruitment and when we know how much he loves being on the training pitch, I think I know where he'd rather be!

I think this has always been the plan and was happening with Ashworth then the wheels fell off. The whole 'he wants to control everything' narrative is way off. It had to be that way without anyone in place but with people above him now, he should just get a say, not the only say.
I agree. There's maybe 3 or 4 players I would say we need to keep to rebuild around but the rest, if we get anywhere decent offers for them, can go and use that for a full rebuild. Team is stale, I'm probably still on the fence with Howe, unless we can get Poch after the World Cup!
Assume you're talking about Eddie? I think its all a bit blown up, I dont see him going, he's happy and has more to do with us. There's just been A LOT of press talk and rumour mill shite. I think he stays and we have a good end to the season, a good summer and Europe next year HWTL
I disagree, I think it was clear Howe was moving us towards a more technical-quality, possession based game but has reverted to type to try and stop the poor run of form and in the absence of the right no.9. Tonali, Ramsey, Wolte, Hall, Tino, Thiaw - even Bruno/Botman are technical over physical ๐คทโโ๏ธ
So much agreement ๐ค
It's been a blast, we've shown we can compete with these teams, albeit, not for the full 180 minutes...yet!
Bring on Sunday, and a strong finish to the season, regardless of where we end up ๐

It's not inexperience. We were doing all those things 3 years ago and were labelled as shithouses. We can do it, we've just stopped and I dont really know why
I've said it for years. Take the timing job away from the refs. If they want something, they'll keep playing. With all the interference we now have why are we still allowing refs to do this themselves
Penalty all day long. Full time should have been blown before then but cant argue with the decision once it's there
Maybe. We all know the Liverpool links and his desire to play UCL. Agree he won't ๐
If not him up front, how would you set us up?
To notice what??
Every player is going to get analysed/criticised by the pundits, thats what they do.
He isn't a no.9 and he hasn't played consistently well but he is best option through the middle right now
He is not a player I want to be replacing in the summer given what we need elsewhere
Mate, you can have whatever opinion you want about any player. To "not like" a player who offers so much, and at the moment, is our best option upfront who is actually contributing something to betterment of the team is wild to me. But you do you, enjoy tonight and bring on City, is all I'll say
Which one mate? Fucking Wordsworth over here.
I'm not sure this makes sense but happy to be corrected... it might be the Guinness and giddiness from that Osula screamer!
I'd be happy with this tbf
Penalty, foul takes priority over offside. But yeah, probably a free kick for City ๐
Not really covered at full time either I dont think. Didn't sit right at the time and now, after reading that, its another failure on the PGMOL
Just going to leave this here... #NUFC
I'd say thats harsh, yes he's been targeted for his pace, and he's not solid by any means, but he's had some decent games when we've not been under it.
I get fed up with the blame game. Everything is always so negative, we've given the best team in the league a real game tonight. Back the team.
Exactly this. Yes, Tripps is past his best but I'd rather a slower, experienced player (that does his bit by the way) over an untied, young full back that Eddie doesnt want to throw in
Absolute joke
Agreed. There's been a definite change since Brentford and a more positive, energetic look to us. I think tonight will be one away game too many but as long as we give a good account and dont get embarrassed, I'm not too worried.
I'd rather beat them in the cup anyway ๐
What Shearer was saying tonight was that it has negatively impacted the referees making decisions without it.
I get that, and they still dont get it right with all the extra time they have, but it wasn't the pundits (Alan Shearer) calling for it. Technology was always going to come in, they have implemented it poorly and it needs improving and that is what pretty much all the pundits are saying...
VAR was meant to improve the game and take mistakes out - who wouldn't want that?? What's actually happened is simple decisions get forensically checked and the referees have lost the ability to make decisions without a safety net (today is a perfect example of that). I don't really get your point
THE worst refereeing performance I've ever seen
@editkev.football with the sensible, thoughtful insights. You're bang on, this isn't all at Eddie's door, yes he could manage things better at times but this is the result of us not being able to invest in the first team for 2 years
Wow! Sort it out man! ๐ Can you, as the producer of the pod, please get all the journalists to ask Eddie Howe and PIF all the serious questions please? I'm sure we'll get answers about the stadium and training ground now that it's been demanded on here. Pull your finger out fella ๐๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Agree on all of this. Was saying the same to a mate tonight, we're years off being anywhere near City (Arsenal, Liverpool) really.
Thought Elanga looked far improved tonight and he needs minutes now, Barnes on the left and Wissa through the middle. Wolt looks well off it at the moment
