Like it or not, this is a fair point. I'm still a fan of Howe, want him to stay (have to caveat this every time to stave off the nutters), but if you believe the #NUFC leadership structure can now find the right transfers, then surely the same can be said for finding a managerial successor if needed

There was a good chance to supplant one or two of them these past few years though, Spurs and Manchester Reds specifically. Shame that Manchester Reds seem to be enjoying a bit of stability now. A couple of seasons of European football may have helped bridge that gap, but we seem way off that again.

Constant coordination is one way of putting it, pulling all of the strings is another.

If Howe stays (which is still my preferred option) then the squad rebuild this summer has to be monumental, and nigh on perfect.

Arguably, we lose Tonali, Gordon, Trippier and Tino as a minimum. We still need a ST and a GK, so that leaves potentially five 1st team positions to be filled. #NUFC

I don't trust anyone at the club at the moment. They've gladly left Howe to deal with more than he really ever should have been trusted with. That's not a slight on him, but his expertise has a ceiling and that's coaching players. I don't see how we'll achieve a squad refresh in the summer

Depends on far too many factors. If the plan is so give him another year regardless (which I'm not saying no too) then they need to be making their moves in the market now, or he'll be left in the exact same position next season. Need to sound players out now so we don't get gazumped time after time

I think in general terms, sacking a manager is always easier to a club than effectively sacking half the team. There's no guarantee we'll do any good business in replacing them as well, been a rough couple of windows, so no guarantees

Which I do agree with. But if he can't bring them back round to his way of thinking, that's indicative of a wider problem. If it were easier to sell half of the squad and refresh rather than allow him to go, then I'd take that option. But that won't happen unfortunately.

Take our entire European campaign out of the equation, how often have we played well? Bar City I think, all of our 'good' games were in Europe. It's a complete anomaly
