The organiser of the leadership course I'm doing clearly has a portal that allows him to look into my psyche.
I have been personally attacked by every bit of homework!
This article is great.

The recent GMC workforce report shows why this is important.
The most rapidly rising group in healthcare delivery are doctors outside of formal training programmes.
We need all careers to be routes to achieving your potential.

One of the worst performing ambulance services in England is deliberately restricting the number of crews it puts on the road ahead of winter because of its financial problems.

Social care Providers are "at risk from national insurance hike" Changes to employers' national insurance contributions announced last month will cost the adult social care sector over £900m next year, more than wiping out the extra funds allocated in the budget, said a Nuffield Trust analysis. Increased costs to the social care sector will rise to an estimated £2.8bn in the next financial year when the planned increases to national minimum wage rates are added in. The report said this would mean that many businesses, especially smallones, risked going bust.
The @bmj.com is often accused of being overly political.
But (as alluded to in this snippet), if social care providers go bust because they can’t afford employers National Insurance contributions, the consequences will be very medical, with lots of people ending up in hospital!

“According to the latest findings, only 13 per cent of the health and medical workforce is in regional, rural, or remote areas, which is insufficient to serve Australia’s 30 per cent rural population.”

We were delighted to recently add another Trust to the group who have decided to implement the #SASsix.
Welcome to the team, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. We are very glad to know you.

Well look at the resonance of findings from Aus Health & Medical Research Workforce Audit with existing DEI research (including ours) in VIC, which leads in workforce concentration:
📣 Lack of funding, job insecurity & work-life balance are HUGE issues! #academicsky

Today's GMC workforce report speaks of doctors "choosing" to find themselves outside of formal training.
For some this is choice, for others a necessity.
Regardless of how someone finds themself in this position, we need to make this somewhere people can have a career and achieve their potential.
I've been followed by a couple of MPs and journalists, which is pretty awesome.
If anyone wants to know how to solve the medical workforce crisis, there are solutions you may not hear unless you talk to some SAS doctors.

My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.

Depression can be a smile or a laugh.
It can be arriving at work well-dressed and on time.
Depression can be using every ounce of your energy to get through the day.
So...
When someone tells you they're OK,
Ask again,
And listen.

For 8 yrs, I hid behind an anonymous handle,
Afraid of the stigma & judgement that come with revealing a mental health diagnosis.
This summer, I 'came out' & to my surprise, I was blessed with the support & encouragement of thousands of people.
For me, that was MedTwitter at its best. 💓

Researchers found that to address the epidemic of mental ill health among HCPs, workers needed:
Targeted MH interventions
Hot food
Rest areas/lockers
Free parking
Essentially staff just need to be valued & treated like human beings.
Rocket science it is not.
