My GP is so pissed off at the insurance industry I'm surprised he hasn't just disappeared a la Merlin in Sword In The Stone.

“Cluny the Scourge, folks, he makes the best deals for his rats. He comes to me and we make the best deals, like no one ever heard of. He’s saying ‘maybe we’ll run the Abbey together’, we’ll see…

But Matthias Mouse, squeaky Matt I call him, he’s no Martin the Warrior, no Martin the Warrior.”

Went to my gyn this morning and she said "yeah basically everything you've listed is low testosterone related, and normal doctors won't treat that."

So I fairly threw my veins at her and said let's DO IT because I am DONE. I want to be sane again!

I think the thing that pisses me off the most about "Home" tabs in apps and on nearly every website is that companies (lookin' very specifically at you this morning, Patreon) is that they stuff it with accounts you don't follow, don't know, because ad revenue. If it's my home, WHY STRANGERS

One of my old sewing machines has a cracked cam (gear that tells the machine to do a different stitch pattern) and I may have roped the middle school science teacher into helping me 3d print a new one with his design elective 😈😈😈

A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.

A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.

In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."

Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

I got so frustrated with one of my coworker's willful ignorance once, that I ordered a "short bus" model and took some yellow electrical tape and relabeled it the "Rey Rey Express."

Gave it to him the next week.

The laughter was amazing. Cherished gift for sure.

It's a great bag! I made it initially as a good project bag, but I've been using it as an every day purse because it's just FUN

Ooooooo thank you!!

What? No, not at all! It's good to get validation, and hear from someone not in my head. I know a good bit of the population wouldn't/couldn't pay what they're worth, but hearing "yes this is worth it" is always appreciated.

So if I math it out, I'm looking at probably 600/bag, which I don't think people will pay. I could cut down on the prep time by doing multiple bags at a time and possibly investing in a heat press, but that's still money to recoup.

Which is exactly what I've always done because I know people look at things and go, I can buy that cheaper on Temu!!!! Which, yes, you totally could, but also: slave labor 🥳

Fabrics are generally $10-$45 a yard. The interfacing is $20/yd. My time, with cutting/prep, is around 6 hours.

MIL said she thinks they're worlds better than the Consuela bags (which is hella nice to say, I love the look of those), and I could probably charge just as much as they do because they're made better.

But I don't know! It feels weird because I'm small and unskilled! I am baby!

The structure is from a really stiff, heavy interfacing, and you need to make the shell out of upholstery so it can stand up to being abused over time. It takes four (!!) separate clasps to have the bag closure function the way I want it and to make it so you can take the strap off to wash it.

SIL and one of MIL's friends has asked if I can make her one of the bags that I just finished, and MIL is encouraging me to start selling them. I'm tempted because they're relatively quick sews, but they're also not inexpensive.

I must not discourse.
Discourse is the mind-killer.
Discourse is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face the discourse.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
