and not unintentional - many cis folk need to cleanse any hint of queerness or transgression from their choices in order to feel comfortable. the current mainstream promotion of hormones for cis folk goes hand in hand with the removal of trans access to them
so to have those things taken and isolated for cis people to use instead of us as opposed to as well as us is particularly cruel
we've always advocated for change and access beyond our own needs - for bodily autonomy, names changes, hormones, identity construction, non-traditional family, transgression of gender norms - for everyone who might benefit from them
another thing which irks me about the Cis People Taking Hormones columns is trans folk have long said "maybe a lot of folk would be happier with a slightly different hormonal setup to what their body produces"
my read on terfs has always been that this has been about personal grievances within workplaces like universities and charities, where older self-identified radicals have felt undermined and their positions threatened by a younger, queerer generation
