Well we didn't expect this to turn up on our camera traps!

This amazing footage of a wild pine marten was recorded whilst surveying for water voles, following the reintroduction last year, as part of the ongoing partnership between Kernow Conservation and Trewithen Estate.

We’ve been taking some time to review a year’s worth of camera trap footage, and this woodcock moment stood out immediately.

Their camouflage is extraordinary, an adaptation to a life spent feeding among leaf litter at dawn and dusk!

🎥 A stoat investigates a water vole monitoring raft — a rare glimpse of this predator in the water.

A sharp bird alarm at the end sends it racing back to shore.

Thank you! The £40 donations are all from Aviva employees, they get given a voucher to donate to a project of their choice but as Aviva are already giving the fund they don't also match fund it.

In August, Cornwall’s damp meadows and heaths glow with the purple blooms of Devil’s-bit scabious.

It’s a late-season nectar lifeline for pollinators and the sole larval food plant for the rare marsh fritillary butterfly, whose larvae feed on its leaves throughout autumn and winter.

Not the most flattering angle, but definitely one of the rarest we’ve filmed in Cornwall.

Seen skulking through the undergrowth at Trelusback Foundation… can you guess the bird?

Yesterday we visited Woodland Valley Farm with some of our business members to see the incredible beaver habitat there.

Beavers create wetlands, boost biodiversity, clean water, and reduce flood risk — all by doing what comes naturally.
