Yeah - uncle as uncles do, spent too much time chasing Twitter rabbit holes and radicalised a bit during the pandemic.
A lesson on how naming matters. Put the name "Ancestral Recall" on a card - viral. But WotC is trying to make a draw 3 creature for years. Turns out "if you have <2 cards in your hand, draw an extra one" is the way.
And yes, I will continue using forgotten meme templates.

But what is staggering about the deck are the win rates of commons and uncommons in the Pizza builds. A random U 2 mana 2 drop has a win rate of top bombs in the format in 2C decks - just short of Jitte and Sally Pride. All the numbers in this graph are wild beyond belief.

You DEFINITELY want to have 5 basic types in your deck. Half of Everything Pizza decks on 17Lands did not. And guess what? It costs you 4.5%p win rate.
Part of the charm of pizza is its ability to fetch missing color for own activation. Don't deprive yourself of it.

Most versions are GU/GB with splashes from other colors. But I have seen successful UR versions, tapping into artifact synergies, with the pizza being one.
Here is the average number of basic lands per deck in the 2500 decks studied:
This means you want ~4 nonbasics.
The decks namesake has high, but not impossible requirements. But it a strong 3-for1 / 4-for-1 if you can crack it. Sort of like Imperial Oath, it gives control deck a rare-like finisher at low rarity. But imho the deck is good on it's own merit, Pizza is just a bonus.

This is the win rate of 5 supported color pairs and decks with Everything Pizza. A 5C deck consistently being the best thing in a format is not something you see everyday. And because of low volume of TMT draft content, it's still flying under the radar a bit.

New Magic Numbers (link ⏬) is all about the by far best deck in TMT draft, that is also the worst kept secret of the TMT format: the Everything Pizza deck. It is drafted (I looked at 2500 lists for the ep.), but not drafted often enough given its power and how open it is.

Sometimes you listen to content that talks about stuff you don't know and sounds competent, but once they touch your specialty topic, illusion breaks. This was reverse. This episodes improved the credibility of the podcast. Maybe The Circle of Loyalty was busted all along?

Reasons? It's against the feelings of the general community. My "reading the room" is causing me to self censor. Something I never wanted to do. Being called out, I can adjust and do better by being honest rather than trying to tell what people want to hear.

One part I liked particularly was a scalding of us, limited content creators, for being apologetic about making the Turtle content. Is it the best set ever? No. But it is one of the most fun limited experiences I have had and probably my content doesn't reflect that.
