That's fantastic, but I wish the artist had put their name on it, I would feel better about sharing it if they had!

"Sorry, I was talking to the cat!!!"
I couldn't breathe because I was laughing so hard. That bird's an asshole! 😂😂😂😂😂
Best with volume up.
I read chewbacca as chihuahua and got a very different picture
Do you have access to the Univ of Michigan, Ann Arbor Library system?
The Quote Investigator is trying to verify a citation in a 1945 pamphlet that is only held in the Ann Arbor Library. Are you willing to help? I will send details
Friend of mine worked with early vr headsets (late 80s, very low frame rate) and kept knocking drinks over because he was expecting them to jump into his hand.
the rocket telemetry for the first manned mars shot will be vibe coded and everyone will die
There’s a story about Khrushchev, Stalin’s successor, giving a speech where he said how much he disagreed with Stalin’s policies. Someone shouted from the audience, then why didn’t you say at the time? and Khrushchev snapped, “who said that?”
Complete silence in the room.
And he said: that’s why.
I may have to cover my eyes occasionally: I did get an aisle seat in case I need to make an escape. But it may cure me by overexposure!
I have booked to see Hard Boiled on Thursday. I have an aversion to seeing guns pointed at people's heads in films, and explosions scare me. I've just watched the trailer.
Pray for me.
I'm much older than you, and it's taken me a long time, and I still slip up sometimes!
Speaking as someone who recognises themselves in what you say, there is a third option. I've learned to slightly rein back at times and to recognise when it's ok to let go, sometimes within the same conversation.
@huwbowen.bsky.social Just sent you a DM, don't know if you can see them!
Map showing 40,001 entries on our map.

Green-tinted image showing a bowl of strawberries created by Japanese psychologist Akiyoshi Kitaoka that doesn’t have any red pixels in it, despite the strawberries looking red (they're actually grey, and it's just their relation to the overall green tint combined with what colour we expect to see on a strawberry that creates the illusion).
US: “I believe it when I see it! Reality is what our senses tell us! Always trust yourself!”
SCIENCE: “Here is a picture created by Japanese psychologist Akiyoshi Kitaoka that doesn’t have any red pixels in it, showing how easily we’re all fooled by what we think we can see. Have a lovely day.”
@sil.kryogenix.org Is It worth posting the request for CMA responses to Brumtech slack, do you think?
To be scrupulously fair, the flour in the British loaf will also have added nutrients (calcium carbonate, niacin, iron and thiamin) for the same reasons.
Yes, it was excellent! And thank you so much for the arachnophobia warning, we need more of those!
Got any plans for lunch?
yes I think I have to write something about 'failing quietly' vs 'failing loudly'
when the electricity in your house goes out, that is failing loudly. you know at once.
when an AI fails, it mostly fails quietly. the bad incorrect answer gives no warning that it is different to the good useful one
This feels tremendously helpful to me, but I can't think of a name! I'm a front end web developer; when developing the back end a lot of the time it just won't work if you've got something wrong, but with front end it can all look fine until you get an edge-case user complaining something's broken.
I'll pencil it in!
I'm not around on 1 March (or 15th) but will be on the 8th.
I'd be up for that!
The bar at the bottom of Leam? No I haven't. Do you recommend it?
@huwbowen.bsky.social Not to be weird and keep recommending you stuff, but are you aware of this documentary? Q&A with Walter Murch in London in May, will probably have a limited release after that. princecharlescinema.com/film/3161733...
I didn't! It helps if you know some colour theory, but I found myself describing the colour in my head with words. I seem to be consistently too dark, and some of their scores seem to be different to what you'd expect from how close the colours look.
Or marvellous, depending on your fancy! I go to letterpress courses from time to time and I love it. It forces you to slow right down and think about every decision, although once you'd done 7 years as an apprentice I'm sure you sped up quite a bit.
Pop him on a box.
