I'm *very* excited to report that we got initial funding and have hired our first Rust maintainers!
RustNL's Rust Maintainers Team starts out with two full time maintainers, one intern, and five part-time maintainers, now stably employed to continue their work on Rust! 🎉

Next Paris Rust meetup will be organized with Devoxx on the 23rd of April. Organization is therefore different than usual so I strongly advise to take a look at the meetup page if you're interested: www.meetup.com/rust-paris/e...
Enjoy!
⚠️ An active phishing attack is targeting crate owners by asking them to "confirm that your email address is still active". These messages are not from crates.io, and should be ignored. (We will never ask you to confirm that your e-mail address is still active.) ⚠️
You're on fire! =D
docs.rs builds are about to change. If you have crates published on crates.io / docs.rs, I recommend you read this blog post in case you might be impacted by this change: blog.rust-lang.org/2026/04/04/d...
Okay folks I've responded to the data center heat island paper. It is the worst study on AI and the environment I've ever read, by far. Thank you to @beijingpalmer.bsky.social for flagging. blog.andymasley.com/p/data-cente...
A large cinema room filled with happy Rustaceans at RustWeek 2025.
Did you know that RustWeek 2026 is held in one of the largest cinema's of the Netherlands? This means: extremely comfortable seats, great air conditioning, perfect audio, and a very big screen: over 280m², the 2nd largest in the country! ✨

That's the thing: the scrape-example feature is not used to point a user to a usage but is used as a replacement of code examples.
I disagree, I don't like this feature at all. ^^'
It goes against "high quality" docs objective imo
We query blanket impls and trait impls, meaning that they're not correctly "placed" in the rustdoc AST, preventing `doc_cfg` top-down approach to work for them. I explained the bug more in details in the PR if you're interested in the tech details. :)
That's it folks!

And I fixed a bug in the `doc_cfg` feature (getting closer to stabilization with each fix 😅) in github.com/rust-lang/ru.... The bug came from how rustdoc handles impls: they are "cleaned" on their own after we cleaned everything else.

Tracking issue for that is: github.com/rust-lang/ru... (the work is not complete yet!).
I also fixed some bugs in rustdoc for the scrape-examples feature in github.com/rust-lang/ru....

Didn't communicate much about my work on the Rust project lately (and I'm very much behind everything I want to work on T_T). Although, I did a lot of "invisible" work. For example: lints and warnings/errors now share the same API, no more weird differences between the two!

New Rust in Paris speaker is Arthur Carcano! His talk is named "Rust, Unicode gotchas, and the eight different string types". If you ever wanted to know what's the difference between `String` and `OsString`, you should definitely watch this talk!
See you on friday!

Last minute speaker change for the Rust in Paris 2026 conference: Brendan will not be able to attend (we wish him the best!). I'll announce new speaker shortly. Stay tuned!
See you on friday!

Just published a bugfix release for the Rust `askama` crate (compile-time jinja template handling).
It provides fixes for (jinja) macro arguments and fixes for the rust macro paths.
Full details here: github.com/askama-rs/as...
Enjoy!

Mouais.

Just released the `0.38.4` version of the rust `sysinfo` crate (crate used to query systems information).
This version unpin the `objc2-*` dependencies while continuing to support older macOS versions.
It also fixes a Disk size computation bug on linux.
Enjoy!

I can *finally* use this sentence: "If you have a problem and solve it using a regex, you have two problems"
Ce serait bien d'utiliser le compte mastodon aussi. C'est bien mastodon. :')
A warm welcome to stockly.ai as a sponsor of Rust in Paris 2026 🦀🚀
Stockly is helping reshape e-commerce by connecting inventories across retailers, and their commitment to Rust makes them a natural fit for our event.
Thank you, Stockly, for being part of the journey. 🙌

Next Paris rust meetup will on the 26th of March in collaboration with the Rust in Paris conference (rustinparis.com) and will be hosted by amo!
You can register here: www.meetup.com/rust-paris/e...
See you there!
PS: I know the current "lock" on the `objc2-*` dependencies is an issue. I plan to make a major release to release this constraint at some point (yeay minor semver releases which remove old(er) systems support...).
