Wow that was incredible. I don't think I've ever watched much synchro skating before, actually!

The short story that won the BSFA award at the weekend! Listen to it for the lovely Scottish accent of @elizachanwrites.bsky.social who was exactly the person to be the narrator.
And the story might leave you feeling certain ways after, too. ποΈπ¦
For those of you who missed it, hereβs the video of our chat about the Vile Lady Villains UK launch!
We have @darthj.uno reading from the book (some of my favorite Klytemnestra chapters) and @ajvanbelle.bsky.social asking some very interesting questions.

The end justifies the means. But what if there never is an end? All we have is means.

yeahhh I had started a big serious STUFF newsletter and lost my motivation for it several times; but blogging is invigorating because it's just your thoughts, so I totally get that. also to be fair people can choose how they get blog alerts (email vs app notif vs whatever) so maybe I'm 80% correct π
Getting my diagnosis definitely reframed my relationship with my dad, who basically had a burnout/shutdown period when I was a kid (that my NT mother made sound like a personal moral failure which I then internalised π)... so when I had a similar one I was like OHHHHH
I mean, I get your blog posts in my email... π
My newsletter is my blog. I choose which posts to send out as email, and the rest I just post on there for me (and whoever wants to read 'em).
I saw your post yesterday and was RUSHING to finish my ballot this morning π
Bluesky giveaway incoming March 29!
The prize is a $25 @sistahscifi.bsky.social gift card!

I have also included Robert (and @quinnthegm.bsky.social, who comes up next in this thread) in my round up of YouTube folks worthy of nomination in Best Related Work, Best Fancast, or Best Fan Writer. They're some of my favourite people on the platform! Full post here: darthj.uno/2026/01/06/i...
At least he is self-aware about it π
I have been reminded of YET ANOTHER THING that Brandon O'Brien is eligible for!!!!!!
Every time he goes "... but regardless of that" I giggle a little.
I already have it starred on my schedule, it sounds so interesting! Looking forward to meeting you π
Both of them are on my list as well! They are two of my favourite YouTube channels and I think Quinn in particular does some great analysis in his videos.
Hugo, Best Related Work
This is such a confusing category, combining, as it often does, "related" things that don't necessarily seem "related."
But, that said, Brandon O'Brien wrote an essay series, ConVerse, as part of an overall Seattle Worldcon blog.
